per his twitter, Erdei has a hand problem, still wants to fight, but is having an MRI and second opinion tomorrow morning. :verysad This would be a bummer to close out the year. Hope for the best but if he drops, there is still time to find Cloud an opponent. Dibella promotes Isaac Chilemba and he's ranked by IBF and last fought on Martinez-Barker undercard, so maybe? edit: Big Dan says Gabriel Campillo would be ready and willing to step in.
Damnit!!! But Cloud-Campillo is decent too. Worse comes to worse we will watch that. But I still cross my fingers for Erdei-Cloud.
Not sure what happened with Campillo's last fight, but if the Campillo shows up from the Shumenov rematch shows up, Cloud will be in for a long night.
I'm still disappointed that Pascal-Cloud did not work. Now, Erdei is injured... Good thing if Cloud can fight Campillo. Tavouris is not active enough.
Damn do I want Erdei to take on the top at 175! I think he could play spoiler pretty well... As for Campillo, as much as I love and rank Erdei, Campillo is a tougher fight for Cloud. If he takes on that monster on less than 4 weeks notice, I'd be impressed.
I was looking foward to this fight but I guess Erdei isn't totally out yet so this fight could still happen. If Erdei drops out now than there is still time for a decent replacement. Campillo has been mentinoed and that is a nice replacement fight if it happens. It would be nice if it all worked out, I'd hate to see the entire show scrapped.
Yeah it would really suck if the entire card falls through, especially since Showtime chose this fight over Pirog-Geale as a main event.
I'd forgotten about that, so yeah, if this fell through Showtime passing up on the Pirog-Geale fight would look bad. We never get boxing on tv on New Years so I was looking foward to this card. I think/hope they save it since its still a month away and a shot at Cloud's title on Showtime should attract plenty of attention.
