Dawson vs Who?????

 

....VS. CLOUD, the up and coming 100 + punches a round light heavyweight with power who beat up clinton woods and tko'd the extremely durable julio cesar gonzalez. I personally think cloud doesn't beat dawson, but he gives him a real good run for his title. this fight needs to happen. does chad actually think he can pick and choose? he may be good, but his last four fights leave something to be desired. if he really wants the hopkins' and adamek's of boxing, he needs to put on a masterclass against the young, hungry contenders.

 

not me...Woods isn't nearly as good today as is Chad...I like Chad's movement and size to beat Cloud..Cloud is unproven still and I don't see him doing to Chad what he did to Woods..

Cloud is a beast and can beat dawson. time for Dawson to man up because theres nobody else to fight but Cloud

 

yes he can pick and chose he has a contract with hbo and is the biggest name in the division aside from hopkins. and he already beat adamek easily, a fight with cloud can wait a couple years; hopkins is retiring soon and the window for that fight gets smaller everyday! hopkins needs to stop ducking the young gun!

 

Pascal's promoter is in NY today or tomorrow to listen both HBO and Showtime. HBO wants Pascal-Dawson and Showtime Pascal-Cloud! Considering that Pascal is on the disabled list until June at least, perhaps Cloud-Dawson may happen sooner than expected.

 

Sorry, Cloud does not fight Dawson until he beats a named opponent, even if it is one of the elders - Tarver, Hopkins, or Johnson or a fresh body like Pascal. A fight with any of these guys could pave the path for a big showdown. But not now, with Cloud hardly fighting and no one really knowing who he is.

 

Cloud vs Dawson. Id have to go with Dawson, by clear but not very exciting UD. I dont think Dawsons running from anyone his own age. Hopkins is still rated as no.1 LHW now Calzaghe has retired, so that is why he is calling out Hopkins. Makes sense.
Tarver was the next highest rated fighter at the time Dawson fought him, & Tarver had a rematch clause if he lost, so Dawson had to fight him again. He also fought an undefeated Adamek.
Theres some good matches to be made at LHW now with Dawson, Cloud & Pascal, and im sure if Hopkins retires for good Dawson would relish the challenges

 

Cloud is the 'worst' of the 3.

 

Dawson easily beats Cloud. A clearly past prime Clinton Woods was hitting Cloud at will. Dawson's faster and has more skill than Woods. Cloud walks right into punches (especially jabs) and can be countered easily. I see Cloud as a more skilled version of Jeff Lacy in a sense. He's offense only and that's not good going against Chad Dawson.

Hey, Cloud is just as big a draw as 'Boredom Dawson', so why not? He's dropped two belts now and gone on to fight 40-year old versions of Tarver and Johnson. I'd like to see him face either Cloud or Pascal when he's back from injury and in the sxcheme of things.

 

Dawson would school Cloud...Cloud gets hit way to much and does not have the mechanics to box with Dawson...I dont understand how some can say he's running from Cloud?:?
