We got a couple of second generation guys in the amateurs right now...

Hasim Rahman Jr. and Jarin Clay Bey (son of Lawrence Clay Bey).... See what they do at that level right now and hope for the best....

Since I joined here, i've been hearing how America's best are going into either NFL or NBA. Now that, for the most part, may be true, but you would think that in 3-4 years you would of seen at least 1 quality heavyweight boxer from the states. It's not as if they're lacking in quality coaching, training facilities etc. It'd be a shame to see the Klitchko's retire in a couple of years and not see any new blood coming through from either continent, esp America considering it's history .

it is better to have david haye on the scene than not, but a superstar yank on the heavy stage is needed to wake the fans up a bit.

    Yup,
    exactly.
Since the NFL officially had its inception in 1988, all prospects that would have gone into boxing have flocked to the NFL.

Well, in couple of years Deontay Wilder and Tor Hammer will be ready in America. But the bulgarian Kubrat Pulev and The Finn Robert Helenius are going to keep things going in the meantime.

No that is exactly the case. If you go to any poor American area you will find tons of leagues for American football and basketball. You won't find any for boxing. The only kids in boxing are related to die hard boxing fans.
