If Usyk can hurt SHWs, he can definitely hurt Norton. Norton's cross-armed defense is far less effective against southpaws, so he'd be eating Usyk's left hand all night. Plus, Norton was manhandled by Foreman, yet Usyk has shown he can push around SHWs who make Foreman look small. I don't see any basis for saying Norton is stronger physically in the clinch.

Yeah, he lost a couple to Folley, too, but people don't really try to use that as "proof" that he would have struggled with boxer-punchers. I do think he was a little cooler against Folley in fairness but there's not much there.

    No, no and no.

Prime Ali was faster, better puncher with granite chin and stamina for 1000 rounds non stop punching.

Usyk beat fat overhyped man that was called next Ali but Fury was slow and stiff asf with glass jaw.

Hell I know contenders who were more skilled than Fury like Jimmy Young or Cooney and Usyk didn't have easy time with him.

Those boxers now would he toys in 70s and 90s maybe even in the 80s.

Do you really think that Usyk can beat Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe...hell I'll pick Ike over him.

Let's be honest at the end of the day Usyk is 7-0 1ko at HW. Prime Norton, the only person who stopped him was Foreman (arguably the biggest hitter ever, Shavers he was a little worn). You might be underrating Ken a tad bit. Hurting someone isn't really something to hang your hat on if 1, everyone at HW can hurt everyone (other than Chris Byrd), and 2, the only men he's hurt have already been: A SHW that was dropped hard by a small CW, and multiple times by a sub 220 guy, a SHW with known chin and confidence issues, and a SHW that was stopped by a jab to the eye. It should also be noted that he unloaded on and couldn't stop an older HW that had been stopped multiple times (to his credit he dominated him though but did it on the backfoot).

Also I've not seen Usyk "push" around SHWs, definitely beat them but push them around? Everything Uysk has done was on the move in and out. He wasn't pushing Fury around, he wasn't pushing Dubois around, definitely not weak minded Joshua around. He was getting pushed around by Chisora. What other HW's are there? Chazz Witherspoon? As for the basis about being physically stronger, you've never seen Norton push anyone back to the ropes? You don't think that leaves clues on who would be stronger in the clinch? The fact opponents actually didn't wanna clinch with him, they just conceded ground. You really don't think he could do that to Usyk? He's literally a cross arm pressure guy. The best pressure fighter Usyk fought had him on the backfoot the entire fight.............so yeah, stronger.

I'd say in 10 fights I could see Uysk's class winning him 6-7 against Norton, no conceivable way he wins all 10. That's silly to say. And he would take more damage in those fights than any other fight he's been in to date.

This topic is about Ali/Usyk though, I can't go any further on this.

I think you’re overrating Norton quite a bit. Outside of his fights with Ali—where he had a style Ali struggled with—there’s not much to suggest he was an all-time great. If you take away those fights, his resume doesn’t stand out, and he struggled against fighters who could exploit his weaknesses, like Foreman.

And about Norton’s cross-arm defense—it’s not as effective against southpaws because it leaves openings for straight lefts and counters, which Usyk would take full advantage of.

Lastly, saying Usyk doesn’t push SHWs around is just not true. If you actually watch his fights with Joshua and Fury, there are plenty of moments where he’s either controlling the clinches and neutralizing their size and strength or straight up pushing them off when they tried to clinch to stall. That’s why Fury couldn’t rely on his usual clinch tactics against him.

At the end of the day, your argument feels more based on vibes than anything we’ve actually seen in the ring. It’s fine to have different opinions, but at least try to back them up with some evidence instead of just going off vibes.

The man already said he saw Ali and he thinks Usyk beats him.
I agree with his take, Ali is massively overrated, I have 7 or 8 HWs that would beat him.

I'm not remotely impressed by Tyson Fury. I have seen it said he moves like a welterweight. I haven't seen it.

See I am in the same boat. Tyson Fury never was as impressive to me- in his younger years it was impressive that someone his size could move like that but that was YEARS ago.

Ah yes I see what you mean, good point, I guess that's a point in Ali's favour.

Maybe I'm biased. He doesn't seem fleet of foot to me.

He certainly isn't now and I agree however for someone his size he moved very well but he never was close to moving like a PRIME Ali.
The 70s was the greatest and most deepest heavyweight division and people forget that.
