Carl Froch says winning the Super Six will fire him into the pound-for-pound rankings. The Cobra takes on Andre Ward in the final of the super-middleweight tournament in Atlantic City on October 29th, live on Sky Sports.He goes into the final as the underdog but believes he can become the first man to beat former Olympic champion Ward and in doing so, confirm his stature as one of boxing's biggest names."This is massive," he told Sky Sports News HD."This is the WBC and WBA titles, there's only one other belt out there. People complain there are too many titles out there but these are the two major belts in boxing and also the Super Six cup is on the line. "Once I win this fight, it will give me pound-for-pound status and people will be talking about me as one of the best fighters in the world - and that's what I crave."Froch has long been regarded as one of boxing's unheralded heroes and will take on Ward on the back of a sensational sequence of fights that few in the modern era can match.Since the end of 2008 he has beaten Jean Pascal, Jermain Taylor, Andre Dirrell, Arthur Abraham and Glen Johnson, with his only blip - and his only defeat in 29 professional fights - coming against Mikkel Kessler in Denmark.Catapulted The Super Six final will be his second fight back with Sky Sports and he believes this is the perfect chance to raise his profile both at home and in the United States, where he has already beaten Taylor and Johnson. "It's two world titles on the line and biggest tournament in world boxing, that hasn't happened for years and years - and probably won't happen for years and years."It's the two best fighters who started out in the tournament and we both deserve our place in the final, so the fans are in for a real treat."Ward, the light-heavyweight Olympic champion in 2004 who goes by the nickname of Son of God, is the current number one in the super-middleweight division.He brings a 24-fight unbeaten record to the Boardwalk Hall but has only stopped one his Super Six opponents - Kessler on a technical decision in the 11th - and 13 in all. A problem Froch believes he will be too strong and too experienced for the 27-year-old and is adamant he will be the one who carries the knockout threat come fight night, regardless of the bookmakers' odds."People are entitled to their opinions, the critics in boxing are entitled to their opinions and nine times out of 10 they get it wrong," he said."But I don't mind that, I don't pay any attention to any of it. I know I need to turn up in great shape and do the business - the odds and who is the favourite make no odds to me at all. "He deserves his place in the final because he's a great fighter.
