Financially and emotionally. It seems he doesn’t have many teeth left and I was told by a friend that when he was out with he & Rosendo Alvarez, Mayorga would ask for small amounts of money. He says Don King took it all. I’m not sure I believe King took it all, because a lot of fighters aren’t good with money, but maybe he didn’t pay him what he was entitled to. I met Mayorga the weekend of Rafael Marquez-Nishioka (Chocolatito US debut) in 2011 and he appeared to be polite, humble and respectful. Shy almost.
Haha! If you’re going to dance around like a bargain basement John Travolta before a fight, then you should at least make sure you’ve got the moves in the ring to back up the moves outside it. Mind you it’s debatable what was worse, his dancing or his fighting!
Ali was humbled by Frazier and forced to accept the need to change. That much is evidenced to me by the tactics employed in the second fight.
Ask Pac that question I personally heard him say after that fight that he never been hit so hard & Margarito was too big & strong He said I was lucky to survive & win. He collapsed just after from pain in his damaged ribs. I wouldn't call Margarito a cocky fighter either nice guy as long as you didn't get in the ring with him lol
I'm a huge Galaxy Warrior fan, but he had it comin' here. He didn't take people lightly any more after that, I'll bet.
TBF Mexican and Puerto Rican boxers tell me the same thing about the rivalry., when they fight its mostly a made-up act and no one hates each other so I think they make these things up, pre-fight brawls included, to sell fights. I mean, I remember Riddick Bowe vs Larry Donald which was on regular HBO of course and I was going to watch it, but the punch suddenly gave me an extra interest and Im sure most casual fans saw it only because of that punch...
