Recently stumbled upoun this article on Cody Koch http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/1998/aug/19/boxers-death-raises-questions/ I remember him on the Toughman competition, and seeing him on the USA tuesday night fights. If he didnt pass away, could anyone see him eventually making it to the top 15 in the Rankings?
He was knocked out badly by Wladimir Klitschko in his last fight. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15821E8Omvc[/ame]
Did anyone see him vs Ed Mahone ? Was winning before being knocked out. He didnt embarass himself against Wlad I thought, was connecting alot more then his earlier opponents. I had a dispute with one my friends, I swear Koch beat Butterbean in the Toughman he won, anyone else see this Toughman competition?
He was booked to rematch Mahone in Las Vegas on August 22 of that year (just three months after the loss to Klitschko); his death at the hands of several bouncers came just over three weeks before he could attempt to avenge that first defeat. Footage of their first meeting would definitely be interesting to see. Mahone wound up becoming something of a gatekeeper but in the 90s both these guys represented steps up in class for both Klitschko brothers.
