Let me start of by saying this: in my personal opinion mayweather from 2008-2011 WOULD probably have beaten 2008-2011 Pacquiao. I would have given pacquiao a shot but gun to the head pick would be mayweather.

Mayweather would have beaten pacquiao is not a response that can be given to this thread because i am saying that is true for the sake of this argument.

It seems to me that when pacquiao was hot mayweather was terrified of him and went into a million retirements. Now that pacquiao is "done" mayweather is signing 5 fight deals, and now talking about fighting beyond that. He no longer fears anyone.

The reality is pacquiao was able to **** with mayweathers head so much that pacquiao will forever define mayweather legacy. There will ALWAYS be an asterisk in his legacy for not doing something he WOULD have most likely done which was dominated pacquiao.

You will NEVER convince me that Floyd was afraid of Pac.

    - And I'm not even a Floyd lover.

    End of.

Your first paragraph sets you up to be a hypocrite.

I don't see what the problem is. The only way Pacquiao could hurt Floyd is by loading his gloves

    floyd doesn't share your enthusiasm.

check and analyze the video out where floyd rant and talk out loud about getting hurt against pacquiao.

btw, nice to see you back here to defend floyd's honor.

  8. JMM said pac is faster and hit harder than Floyd. Its on some interview with Pac on youtube. He also says that Floyd is too sharp for Pac, something like that. I don't think Floyd was scared but Manny did pose a real threat, much bigger than canelo

No. First paragraph is my belief of what would have happen, the point I'm making is I was more confident than Floyd.

I would've favored Floyd, but for whatever reason, he didn't want the fight.

So much crap's been flung by both sides, finding out the clear story is impossible at this point. It's water under the bridge. Shame, because it'd have been a huge megafight.

Lol Pac has naturally loaded gloves. If anyone needs a more manly punch, its Floyd. Give him some bricks and some injected painkillers for his soft hands, and maybe he'd have taken the Pac challenge.

I agree with the op. I'm not a ***** or a ******* but there will always be an asterisk in Floyd's legacy for not fighting Pac. A lot of people, including a ton of African American celebrities, think hat it was Floyd who ducked Pac and not the other way around. Perception is reality and a lot of fans will think that it was Floyd who ducked Pac.

maybe....but JMM pretty much helped Floyd...not just by winning but by the fashion he won....

People will remember the drumming he gave JMM and they will remember the hell JMM gave Pac plus the cherry on top.

    advantage Floyd

The vidoe where Floyd went on that rant about Pac all but confirmed that he wanted nothing to do with Pac. And he gave reasons why. He mentioned the Cotto fight and how Pac just demolished him when even Mosley couldn't. Then he talks about his health being more important. Pac might've had his flaws exposed to some extent but he was on a historic run from 2008-2010 and even Floyd saw who Pac was rolling over. His demolition of Dlh and Hatton were two common opponents. But i think it was his destruction of Cotto which convinced him that fighting Pac was too risky.
