Bob Baker Unanimous Dec- Baker wins a wide decision here. Baker was bigger, taller, longer, more athletic, had the much faster hands, and better skills. Baker could fight on the inside, and could box well on the outside. Baker's biggest question mark, durability, wouldn't come into play here as Cokkell was not a puncher. Cokkell didn't have the tools to win enough rounds against Baker. The fight would play out with Cokkell boring in, Baker sticking and moving, then firing off fast combinations on the inside that back Cokkell up. Baker would then move and reset. Cokkell might win a round or two if Baker gets lazy, but Baker would outland and outwork Cokell every round. On the inside, Baker would really punish cokkell with his fast flurries and combinations. Baker could uppercut nicely, and had a good hook behind it. Cokkel's face is a mess at the end of the fight. Walls KO 2 Cokell- Bad Matchup for Cokell. Walls loved slow plodders who walked right into him and he was a very fast starter. Walls was a big puncher with that right hand, at 6'2 with a 78" reach. I think he catches Cockell with one of his powerful right hands, then a badly hurt cokkell rises only to be met with a vicious fkurry which puts him down for the 10 count. If Cokkell manages to survive the early rounds, he has a chance to outwork a tired Walls down the stretch and steal a decision based on activity. But a 5'10 70" reach slow plodder walking right into Wall's, it's a recipe for disaster. Layne walked right into Walls and got destroyed. Cokkell doesn't have the tools, skills, or style to box Walls at a distance. Cokkell needed to get in close, and he did not match up well with big punchers with a long reach.
Earl Walls was a cousin of my barber. I've been trying to find some fights of his but haven't had any luck
