Gardner wasn't around the same time as Cockell was he? I thought he was around in the 70 s /80 s. Unless I'm mixing him up with another Gardner.

Cooper stops him in 8.
Bugner causes a ref stoppage in the 12th.
Cokkell wins a split decision over Gardner in a fight everyone forgets before leaving the arena.

 

I think Don C0ckell could have beaten Henry Cooper and Jack Gardner. John Lewis Gardner would’ve been a fun fight. Think he loses to Bugner and Bruno but might prove tougher than some expect.

 

Bruno apart, he could have beat them all.
Cooper had his bad nights it’s not inconceivable that Cockell’s consistency eke’s out a points win.
Bugner should beat him, but as we know he could stink the joint out, Cockell could definitely beat the Bugner that lost to Bodell.
There’s no reason that he doesn’t beat John L, he was more skilled.
He doesn’t go far with Bruno though, Frank simply too big and powerful.
