    I wouldn't call Cokkell consistent.

yeah I'd say these two would beat Don, especial Bugner. Bugner is one of the Best British Heavyweights and sadly gets overlooked a bit.

I’m talking about within a fight.
He was consistent with his work.

I think Bugner improved a lot between 70-71 and 73-74. He was very young for the fights with Cooper, Blin, Bodell and Middleton, and had fully matured by the time he was giving Ali and Frazier a decent argument. As much of an eyesore as a loss to Jack Bodell is on his record, it can at least be mitigated somewhat by the context. I don't see Cockell having much to trouble "prime Bugner" (words rarely used in conjunction admittedly).

Bruno was immensely strong in the ring; the accounts of several fighters testify to that, and he had a good track record of clubbing and overwhelming overmatched opponents. Fringe contender / journeymen types who normally stood up for a few rounds had a history of flopping over early against him. Cockell would be giving up huge advantages in size and strength, and I don't see anything in either fighter's record to suggest that could be overcome.

Cooper was inconsistent and Cockell could give him problems. It really depends on how the styles match up, and how well Cooper could establish his jab. His best performances tended to be when he could get the left working early and dictate the fight with it.

I don't rate John L Gardner as anything more than domestic level, and Cockell should be able to beat him. Based on his record, Jack Gardner could be difficult to call if they met on their best nights.

I only seen C0ckell fight against Marciano he looked tough with a good chin, absorbed a lot of punishment in that fight. From that scrap alone he'd be a backer to go the distance with Bugner and Cooper anyway, gets past the early rounds with Bruno and he's in with a shot. Don't know enough of the John L Gardner.

    I thought Bugner was Hungarian?

Cokkell was floored and kod by Randy Turpin,a middleweight.
He was floored and kod by light punching Jimmy Slade,a light heavy.

He was born in Hungary went to the Uk when a boy.
Bruno would decapitate Cokkell, and if he landed his hook ,so would Cooper.
