Colin Jones vs Simon Brown

Brown for me, too quick for Jones. Mid round stoppage on cuts or a RSF.

 

As much as i would not fully discount Colin's chances with any welter whos chin he could find, against many class operators he would have to come through a lot of Flak to find their chins, funny as it might seem, Whilst i would give Colin a decent Chance with someone like Cuevas, a destroyer himself, due to leaky defense, or a gangly breland blocker or as we know Mccrory, I can not seen Colin breeching Simon's articulate Skills so easy, and in the Early meantime Simon was very Heavy Handed, particularly with the left hook to the Body, and there was some suggestion that Colin did not like it down stairs ( due to being floored by Kirk Laing ) I can not help feel that where a Marlon Starling had the defense to defuse Simon Early, then come on with his educated skills, Colin is going to pick up too much early damage, and at some stage Simon will sink that Heavy Left hook to the Body....

Simon a little bit too much of a heavy handed all rounder for Colin i think

 

Id go with Brown aswell...I think he busts up Col towards a mid round stoppage.
Cant count out Jones though, the man could punch.

brown a little bit too fast for Jones, stops him on a cut around the 10th. Although with Jones' left hook you can never count him out.

Agree with the comments that most posters have been making, cant believe that Colin Jones is being discussed on the 'classic' forum, has he been mentined on here before ?

I know that I have mentioned him in relation to his fights with Milton McCrory {not sure which forum} claiming that home advantage was decisive in McCrory not losing.

 

IMHO the first fight could have gone to Jones but the second was close but clear to McCrory.

 

Its a good fight.

I'm sure Colin would have prepared for this fight behind my back garden.

Its a tough fight - I take Brown on points - at their peak that is.

Brown is heavy handed - but this is not glassed chined Terry Norris.

Colin Jones took Don Currys punches easy - he was durable fighter - and I think he would see it through.
