just missed the fight. i feared he'd lose a close one like this in a fight where it seemed he'd done enuff. that's fighting away from home for ya. :-( i'll catch the repeat and score it later.
What did Nelson say? I thought the funniest part of the whole fight was Watt giving round 6 to Branco. It took him about 2 minutes to throw a jab in that round, which missed.
Wow thought I was going mad for a bit, just sat down from watching the fight, I thought Lynes was a clear winner, glad im not the only one who thought he deserved to win.:huh
I found Jim Watt's scoring odd to say the least. It was if he was scoring it from a biased judges perspective with his constant reference to it, instead of giving his own insight
Yep. It is one of my favorite pic's. :yep I am disapointed that I did not keep a proper score card on this fight. But like I said it was no way a robbery just a fight that went to the home fighter when the away fighter should have but did not put the fight behond doubt. Disapointed for Lynes, I can see him getting another crack at the belt but probably after Witter vs Branco and only if Witter wins and relinquishes the belt. Maybe a rematch clause was added to the contract due to the champion having to fight away from home.
He is Scottish and if he is anything like Dunky then Lynes was lucky to get any rounds, even the second.
I'm convinced Jim Watt actualy scored rounds for Branco just because he thought the judges would. I think he scored rounds to Branco when he really thought Lynes won them. He got far to caught up in the whole "Italin Job" thing. He should have just scored the ****ing fight and forgot everything else. To me a fight is a fight no mattter where it's held, who the champion is or how the fighters fight. You look for the man that lands the most punches and that's it. That man was Colin Lynes and everything else is BS!
So I'm not the only one to notice that bull****... I usually like Watt, but his commentary grated tonight. He should just STFU and commentate on what is actually happening, and give his own scoring
Bang on mate! That's what i just said in my last post but you beat me too it and soid if far better than i did. On top of that he gave round 6 to Branco for throwing about 3 punches that missed.
I'm no expert at scoring fights but I gave Branco rounds 7, 11 & 12. Considering Branco was dropped as well Lynes should have won. I had to turn the volume down because I couldn't stomach Jim Watt! :-(
It shouldnt matter if they fought on Brancos back lawn with his granny and grandad as judges Lynes won the fight.By 1,2 or 3 rounds it doesnt matter he won and was therefore robbed!
I thought that was a bit ****ed up. I remember thinking that the punch didn't look that great at the time, and was looking forward to seeing the replay to see if it was a good scoring shot, but the gits never showed it.
Must have been a reasonable shot. Branco looked stunned and backed up onto the ropes after the count, and Lynes isn't exactly much of a puncher
Yep. I guess so. But like I said I did not keep score of the rounds. Maybe if I had I would be really pissed off. Although saying that I am pissed off that Lynes did not put in a class performance like his recent efforts.
