Exactly Jeff when you are away from home you need to make it clearcut to be sure.

Yep. For the 2nd half of the fight the advice seemed to have been "remember not to throw any meaningful punches and definetly try not to win a round against this limited opponent".

Wonder if Lynes will be wanting a crack at the Commonwealth title now.

Even in the second half of the fight Branco only won 3 clear rounds for me.

Given Lynes was superior over the first half and dropped him in round 2 he should have got the result.

If you get the chance re-watch the fight and score it. :good

Why do you hope he is Khan's tactician next month then?

Yep. I am hoping to get to watch the re run.

I still think Lynes needed to make sure of the win and he compeley failed to do that. He is experienced enough to know what happens away from home, every round the away fighter does not totally command goes to the home town favorite.

Thought Lynes dominated enough rounds and when you factor in the knockdown as well....

Be interested to know how you actually score it. :good

Yep me as well. I gotta mute Watt though. He really does my head in.

I think the knock down should have been the deciding factor of the fight, those extra points should have given Lynes a big enough gap for the close rounds not to matter. I am still disapointed in the loss and in Lynes performance.

dwilson I wish he would as he has had a standing invitation for years however he will not fight for the title as long as Ajose is the champion. I personally reckon he would retire so terrified is Lynes.

Call me biased but I have this on excellent authority.

Elle Lynes might have nicked the verdict in the UK but in Italy you need to do more against the homeboy which Lynes did not do after a good start. I think the problem with Lynes is that he fights scared like a crab. Branco is basically shot. Branco changed the flow of this fight not with quality but pure aggression which put Colin off his game.

Olu the fact even you, his harshest critic on this board, suggest Lynes may have clinched the result at home indicates the scoring in Italy was questionable - which is what most of us so far are saying.

Yes Elle he might have nicked it at home but I don't think the decision was questionable. When you are on the raod you need to do it convincingly period. When we went to Wales several years ago to take on Bradley Pryce Ajose had to change his style and basically jump on Pryce otherwise we would have been robbed had we allowed it to go the distance. Similar against Wright when the timing was off due to lack of preparation we changed styles made it a physical fight instead of technical and sickened Wright with body shots combinations to win unanimously.

The point I am making is that Lynes only has himself to blame especially as Branco is shot fighter.

It is true I don't like Lynes as a fighter.

Olu we will have to beg to differ again - I think the result was questionable.

Just my opinion - like you thought the Calzaghe/Hopkins split decision one was and Hopkins got robbed....

There is a Johnny Nelson clip on youtube talking after the fight.

Had Lynes winning by at least a round - shots cleaner, crisper & more effective.
