Styles make fights. Unlike Cotto (or Floyd for that matter), Collazo is a big and natural 147 pounder, and he is also a southpaw. Collazo is slick, takes a good shot, and is a better boxer than Margarito. I think he beats Margarito by close decision, Williams style.
He fought a razor thin close fight against Hatton ad cae up short because of the KD. Margarito kills him.
Completely disagree. Agreed he is a better boxer but how does he stop Tony for 12 rounds? Margarito will eventually get to him and stop him or win on points. I know LC takes a good shot but how many good shots can he take for 12 rounds giving how many big shots AM would probably land. He's not got the power to fend off AM. I'd like to see Collazo back in the picture though. He's been frozen out I think. How things would've been different had he got the decision against Hatton.
I disagree. He fought a bad fight against Hatton, it was his first big stage fight. He was never hurt by Hatton or by Mosely, so what makes you think Margarito kills him ? he can't kill what he can't hit.
The only way AM wont hit him is if LC keeps him away for 12 rounds and I do not see that happening, not for 12 rounds. Eventually AM will get to him and once he wobbles him. The fight wont be over immediately but it soon would be.
Maybe he can't. But Hatton and Mosely have short arms and they are more skilled and slick than Margarito, especially Mosely. I can't see Margarito landing as much as they did against Collazo, he doesn't box well against southpaw movers (phillips, Williams). Collazo has enough power to keep you at bay, even if he can't hurt Margarito.
Hatton is not more slick and skilled than anybody. He beat Collazo by bullying him about. Margarito would beat him up badly.
Margarito is a tough fight for anybody because he is a monster and can't be hurt by anybody at 147. But he is overrated now. The guy can be outboxed, especially by a southpaw. Cotto was a good stylistic matchup for him - punchers can't beat him, only slick boxers.
Possibly but I wouldn't say probably. The argument pro-Quintana in that fiction fight is based on the slickness and technical aproach that had fights won for Quintana against Williams and for Williams against Margarito. The other perspective is whether Quintana can take Margo's punch and that's another, more physical aproach very much based on Quintana's loss to Cotto and to Williams.
