No he doesn't..he's a counterpuncher. He likes to pick and choose his punches. He is no Carlos Quintana...Indio could beat Berto!!
:verysad You clearly only seen the Mosley fight were he fought most of the fight with a ****ed up hand. The guy throws ALOT of punches and like to mix it up.
Collazo will check Berto with the quickness and put the hypejob to bed Collazo is the most underrated fighter period.....I had him up on Hatton by 2 points
and Berto fighting Collazo will change this? sure Collazo's been in with the better opponents but he didn't beat Hatton or Mosley. and despite close fight with Ricky Hatton, he was still dropped in the opening round (flash KD) and got beat by a man, who fights better at 1 weight class below so sure Collazo might have more ring experience, the better resume, and the somewhat credibility of being a former title holder .. even if he was a Paper belt holder. but I don't see why Andre Berto gets so much more crap yes he's a work in progress, even admitted by his promoter. but at 25 and with only 23 fights under his belt Andre Berto can at least tweak and refine his game to reach the Elite status ... and he still might not make it as it would be no shame to lose to Cotto, Clottey, Margarito or Williams but on the contrary Collazo is as good as he'll get, lost to the best men he faced, and IMO isn't good or strong enough to do anything major even if he DOES beat Berto. **still look forward to this fight though.
Collazo seemed on the verge of stopping Ricky in the fight in the 10th or 11th rd. Some people felt he should get the nod on that fight. It took him a while to get the Mosley fight in which he says he injured his hand. By you saying, well he hard time beating Hatton and Mosley how is going to beat Berto makes it seem that you think that Berto is levels above Hatton and Mosley. Is that correct?
I know man, don't mind my noob like posting status not saying Collazo absolutely cannot win this fight but why call out a 25 year old Berto for not facing the best when Collazo got whooped by the best he faced (broken thumb or not) vs Mosley and has fought nothing but bums since then. Andre Berto may still be getting there as far as the pro ranks go, but he's at least got upside to his talent/abilities where Collazo's already as good as he'll ever get.
Your wrong on all accounts really here noob....again Collazo is the most underrated fighter period, he has a ton of skill and has been a victim of boxing politics and gotten the shitty end of the stick....How do you dismiss a fighters performance when he had a broken thumb? Whats wrong with you? He's the #1 ranked contender for the WBC and WBA so thats what fighting bums has gotten him...on the subject of bums theres this WW champion that goes by the name of Paul Williams who just fought a bum and is defending his title against an undeserving bum:deal
The skillsets that those two possess that gave Collazo problems are possessed by Berto. Berto also has many of the same weaknesses as those two fighters and Collazo couldn't exploit it. People talk about Berto's defense, but Hatton and Mosley have worse defense. People talk about Berto's chin, but Hatton's might be worse. People talk about Berto's size, but Hatton is smaller. The handspeed of Hatton and Mosley gave Collazo problems. Berto has better handspeed. Collazo was knocked down by both Hatton and Mosley, Berto hits harder than both. I have no idea how the threadstarter came to the conclusion that Collazo will stop Berto. Collazo has never stopped anyone of note, and has gone the distance with some bums.
