I am using this as an example to all those guys who beleive Joe would have beaten Roy. Both Comacho + ray were 40, comacho beat the **** out of Ray in 6 rnds. Do we judge Ray on that performance, do we regard Comacho as a greater fighter? do we think Comacho would beat Ray like that in their primes. Camacho is a class fighter like Calzaghe, but we know who is better prime for prime.
Hell no he wouldn't do that in their primes...SRL was alot quicker and alot more powerful when he was in his prime....Lets put it like this... Bernard Hopkins is 44 and is still 1 of the best in the world... RJJ is 40 and is no where near what Hopkins is cuz he relied so much on his reflexes and all that.... Ill take a prime SRL over a prime Camacho anyday!
1. Camacho was only 34 when he fought Leonard and he was an active fighter. So you can stop with that lie. 2. Leonard was 40 and had not fought in 6 years when he went into that fight. 3. Camacho couldn't carry a prime Leonard's spit bucket in terms of skill or acccomplishments. 4. This thread is one of the worst Ive seen here.
A prime Sugar Ray Leonard would dust Camacho off in a one sided technical decision. Hector Camacho would've probably been game for all 12 (or 15 rounds depending) but I see Ray Leonard piling up a massive points lead and then showboating/dazzling the crowd the rest of the way.
The hell? Camacho was 34; Leonard was just shy of 41 in March of '97.... Camacho was aging but still active and sharp; Leonard was a ghost.... Leonard looked physically fit in 1997 at 159 pounds, but his timing and reflexes were shot...... MR.BILL:bbb
Calzaghe will get more credit for being a serious / dedicated fighter.... BUT! Camacho had more natural talent and speed....... Calzaghe was serious, while Camacho was a playboy............. Both are / were great boxers....... MR.BILL
