Sure, he won his 14th consecutive fight. Undoubtedly, Mosley is a great name to add to a glittering résumé that now includes world titles in an unprecedented eight divisions and victories over 15 current or former world champions.

However, if recent trends continue, one has to wonder where Pacquiao intends to take his wild ride through boxing history.
Once lauded for cleaning out weight classes by taking on the best opposition available -- Marco Antonio Barrera at featherweight, Juan Manuel Marquez at junior lightweight, and Ricky Hatton at junior welterweight -- the 32-year-old WBO welterweight champion’s last few choices of foes since taking the pound-for-pound mantle have left much to be desired.

Before last Saturday’s thrashing of a 39-year-old who was winless in his last two bouts and reluctant to even engage, Pacquiao dominated Antonio Margarito -- the man whom Mosley knocked out only 22 months before the Mexican met Manny last November.

Moreover, the Margarito fight came on the heels of an asymmetrical affair against Joshua Clottey last March where the Ghanaian did his best impression of a punching bag by absorbing unrequited punishment for 12 rounds.

Thus, the smattering of boos that marked last Saturday’s performance were inevitable. Many fans’ fears are beginning to be realized -- that Pacquiao’s willingness to defer to his handlers in picking his opponents has resulted in maximizing the bottom line (over $20 million this time out) at the expense of depriving the sport of bouts with worthy challengers to his crown.

What? No replies? I figured the hardcore Mayweather supporters would be all over this one.

Most of us know this already so what's the point in talking about it again and again?

Who is exactly is the best?

you keep telling Pac to fight the best, who is out there?

Only man with a chance to beat him is Sergio Martinez, who is 2 divisions above him.

Some people act like Pacquiao's career started in 2008 or something against DLH, and forget what he accomplished before that, a hell of a whole lot.

Same stuff we have been telling all of you. Where the hell would we be if Pac had accepted a 14 day testing cut off?

The dude is a media fabrication.

Hatton took the lineal championship from Tszyu and never lost at 140 until the Pac fight.

Clottey, Margo and Mosley were not worthy opponents at the time and were selected for the sole reason TR matchmakers perceived them as sellable, easy pickin's.

    It's irrefutable.

Time to give the young guns with a chance a go. We need a new star to be born.

The guy worked hard and earned his due. Now he is on the last few fights of his career . . . don't expect Pacquiao to fight high risk low reward fighters.

He is now reaping and making the most money out of it while maintaining his position at the top of the chain.

He never really moved. He sniped a belt then came back down immediately. He never defended his WW title.
