Berto was perceived as the bigger risk at the time. We now know Pac would have had a really easy night.

Look at the credit Ortiz is getting. Would have been a monster KO win for Pac. What a shame

The only best left for Pacquiao to fight are who?

Martinez and Money. Martinez, I believe, Pacquiao can defeat, but Pacquiao doesn't want to go beyond 147 anymore after he got beaten up badly by Margarito who outweighed him by 17 lbs. Money, he's got three or four court appearances to take care of. His trainer might go to prison.

Apart from those two, no one else is on Pacquiao's level.

Bradley might cause another ugly fight once he tastes Pacquiao's power and speed, everything he does, Pac does better (Desert Storm ain't slick at all). Marquez is long in the tooth. Khan will never fight Pacquiao. Ortiz is going to get brutalized by someone far superior to Maidana. Cotto was already defeated by Pacquiao.

No one else has a name and no one else is good enough for Pacquiao.

People clamoring for Pacquiao to fight the best better look at the damn playing field and notice that no one else is good enough for him.

    EDIT:

It's like those guys in government that keep on criticizing the guys in power, but they don't have an actionable plan to give back in return.

The fact is Pac has no natural weight division. He never worked his way up the ranks at Welterweight and he doesn't have a title that requires him to make manditory defenses against at top challenger. He sure would never defend such a belt even if he had one. So like it or not he make move up and down and pick fights how he pleases. Its a sad fact but its true.

But to be frank I'm actually pretty okay with his selection of opponents. Honestly Clottey Margarito and Cotto would kick the **** out of all these young hungary fighters everyone is so angry about him not facing. Okay they have styles which favour Pac, but they weren't easy opponents. I don't know why everyone always tries to re-write history. If Clottey's such an easy opponent then why aren't all these other up and coming welterweight's lining up to face him? Never heard Berto wanting to bring him in cause he needed an easy touch, did you?

p.s. Just to give you an example of the rediculous idiocy of the expectations people put on him....lots of people are seriously interested to see pac in the ring with Sergio Martinez....they wanted pac to fight a boxing wizard/knockout artists that walks around at 180 lbs and they think this is a resonable expectation....complete lunacy.

I think is Margarito and Clottey never fight again, this will be bad for Pac. Since Cotto, Pac hasn't beaten anyone who has shown against other opponents he was still capable of performing at his best.

Bradley, Ortiz, or even Marquez at 144 (ironic that this time, Marquez would need the catchweight to even things out) would be a step up in fresh competition than Clottey, Margarito, and a 39-year-old Mosley.

Ortiz will be fun while it lasts, Marquez will always bring up the "Does he have his number" issue, and Bradley, albeit not the best fight styles-wise, will NOT back up like Shane did and will put it all on the line. As a 27-0 hungry African-American (to please Bernard Hopkins lol) talented fighter, I just don't see what people can say to knock that fight if it were ever to be made.

I personally think Martinez is too big for Manny. But that's just me.

Pac is at the twilight of his career, he is the best right now and the demand should be "PAC SHOULD BE FIGHTING THE MOST DESERVING AND MOST ENTERTAINING FIGHTER OUT THERE!"
