There is nothing funny about saying your gonna smash his head in, why not say 'im gonna show you up and completely outbox you' or 'wait till you feel power lad, as soon as i hit you, your gonna crumble' etc, why is it always smashing heads in or decapitating someone. Bellew isn't as hard hitter as he thinks or what many do think, a ko is brought on by setup work and Tony neglects that normally and just loads up. Last night he was just sitting back and winning rounds, that ok if its against a fighter of a top class but a domestic level fighter with 10 losses should be easily beaten if you are 'world class', would you not say. I'm not gloating really Rob, i'm merely pointing out Bellew isn't as good as everyone makes out. It's nice sitting here knowing your right time after time and not taking in the hype. I said Haye would be schooled by the one-two and he was, especially the jab. i said Bellew wasn't as hard hitter as everyone said and he showed it last night as he didn't have the confidence to setup his work and get his man out of there. He was infront of his home-crowd and fighting a guy he's already beaten, surely he could of done more? Cleverly is very beatable himself and carries his hands too low, but his punch output and variation is miles above Tony's. This will be the key to their match up, just you wait and see. Finally i'm smug in regards to Billy, I was told I don't know the sport and Cook was a viable opponent. I dont feel the need to even try to point out how I am right on that one. I also called Mitchell to beat Murray when everyone said the lads shot after losing to Kats. the lad was having a mare outside the ring and didn't prepare properly hence he got hammered, but last night he showed his level and fair play for doing so. Guys, please stop buying into hype and nuthugging fighters that post on esb, fighters who lose just a fight or 2 aren't shot or exposed. they merely came up short on the night for one reason or another. Gaz your spot on regarding frank and his stable matchmaking, reminds me of his idol arum...
The basis is that tony is limited and doesnt warrant a shot at clev, what is a **** thread is when 14 pages of nuthugging a fighter. I see no gloating, just making the point that folk should refrain from bias more and be more level headed. What have you seen from Clev that allows you to believe Tony will win? Clev has beaten better fighters in fewer fights.
Dan you also called murray last night dude where i chose mitchell, your a north west hugger (love ya really pal)
While I agree with that I just can't see Bellew being the man to exploit it, as much as I'd like that to happen.
Clevs defence is woeful. I genuinely see Bellew drawing him into a fight. I don't see Cleverly being as much of a one punch fighter a'la McKenzie. I really see it being a good fight which Bellew really can win.
Bellew may well be beaten by Cleverly, but i'm sick of people like you making out Cleverly is some world class operator. He's horribly open defensively and will doubtlessly get ko'd as soon as he faces a good figter who can bang. The guy who he fought last had him in trouble before that ridiculous stoppage on the cut, and he was a powderpuff puncher looking at his record.
I think Bellew could win, but not in his next fight. I hope for Tony's sake that he takes his time with his career. If he fights clev this year, he loses bad. If he fights him at the end of next year, it will be a better contest. IMO
After the two McKenzie fights do you really see Bellew standing upto to a war? Please drop the Mckenzie puncher nonsense where does this come from? As bad as Clev defence is his chin is on a whole different level to Bellew's. TIMBBERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :hi:
Where have I said Cleverly is a world class operator? I said Bellew wouldn't be getting a "world" title fight under different circumstances and thats 100% correct. So stop putting words in my mouth and **** right off with the "sick of people like you" shite.
