first off countdown and 24/7 are not part of HBO's Budget it's up to the promoter. now i think Showtime should do a six part show. and what may also help is broadcasting the press confrences, pre fight press confrence, weigh in, and post fight pressconfrences on CBS. that would help out alot and would also go a long way in letting the public get up for this tournament so much **** is talked at althoughs things it gonna get alot of attention. with 5 promoters working together it shouldn't be hard to come up with the dough for a 6 part 30 min show. from what i hear it usally cost about 200k-250k for that type of show
24/7 isn't a monetary black hole that could be saved and used for something else; it's an investment to get more PPV buys. Whatever money they put into 24/7, they get back out of it and more. The super six fights aren't PPV, but Showtime has a fantastic opportunity to boost their subscriptions if they advertise it on say, CBS, where everyone watching doesn't already have a subscription to Showtime (unlike Strikeforce, ShoBox, etc, where you're preaching to the choir).
This must be a given. They will surely make some sort of show to coincide with promoting the event. I see no reason why there would be no behind the scenes show as well. Then hopfully when it's all done and dusted they'll whack it on a DVD in a Boxing Classic Boxset and sell it in the UK, too.
