I doubt whether Bruno would have stopped the old version of Foreman. He had the tools to win on points, though. Always a chance,of course, that Frank would gas out,and get stopped by George, behind on the cards.
Not sure Bruno could do the full 12 against Foreman...... McCall took several rounds to warm up on the only occasion Frank ever went the 12 - and would have either been stopped or DQ'd in a 13th round had there been one.
I agree, Even though I'd favor Foreman to beat Frank, its not a given in my eyes... Frank had balls when taking a beating, was always in great shape, had a good left jab and right cross. When I look at what Alex Stewart did to Foreman along with the Axel Schultz fight, it makes me think that Bruno would have been a tough match.
They are comparable. They both did simular against pierre coetzer around the same time. If the question is who was beter frank bruno or "comeback foreman" then the answer is frank bruno. IMO If bruno got his hands on moorer he would have won bigger than george did. Remember george winning was a HUGE upset - and he he won only one moment of the fight. would comeback foreman have of fared any beter against tyson and lewis when frank fought them - I dont think so. frank bruno AFTER the witherspoon fight was a beter fighter than comeback george who was very shrewd about the fights he took. Bruno would have been the favorite.
