Floyd looked very good last night, very hard to beat. However, with that said, I respect his machine like abilty to block and pick his spots, but even to retire undefeated he would not hold a candle to Robinson, Leonard, Ali, Duran, because he takes no crazy chances. That is what is so memorable about the aformentioned fighters. They probably could have been strickly defensive fighters, but they took crazy chances. Which is why we remember them. Floyd takes almost no chances in the ring. There is no drama. From a purly tactical, least damage done to him self Floyd is great, but unfortunatly he doesnt make great fights and this may not be his fault. It is what it is

Forget not taking chances, that has nothing to do with the argument. He has no great fighter in his weightclass to fight, none, zilch. Mosley was 5 years too late, DLH 10 years.

He took no chance to KO a guy who had almost no chance of hurting him. He may go down in history as one of the best, if not the best defensive fighter. But that is not enough to be truly great.

True. Floyd thinks being undefeated is everything, but people consider Ali one of the greatest and he lost to Frazier and Norton, in fact it looked like Norton beat him twice. You have to beat the greats to be considered great and Mosley and Pacquiao are out there waiting.

I think he possibly picks fighters that will suite his style rather than poor fighters as such.

I remeber back in 2005 when Hatton beat KZ, PBF, Cotto & Hatton were who everyone wanted to see fight each other, 4 years later and all we have had is Hatton moving out of his best weightclass to fight Floyd in 2007.

Thats disappointing, unless Cotto looks like his oldself against Pac we will probabaly never get the chance to see a Prime Cotto take on PBF(who probabaly win either way but still you'd rather see guys in or close to their prime) and of course we never got to see Hatton/Cotto at 140 either.
