Was it just me or was Barry Jones commentating like a nuthugging ****** last night? I didnt agree with a thing he said. At the end stieglitz had a face like a vandalized bus seat , his bird was sobbing and his whole corner looked depressed as **** but he still said he thought stieglitz had done enough to win....... MONG!:verysad
To be fair the fight was a nightmare to score. Most of the rounds were extremely close. Abraham definitely landed the cleaner more powerful punches but was being outlanded and outworked meaning people scoring rounds differently. Jones was far from the only one who scored it in favour of Steiglitz.
I just saw it more clearly. When stiezlitz was busy he was mostly hitting gloves and arms cause of abe's high guard. Like i said , stieglitz's corner and family's faces ,at the final bell, said it all.
The commentary was biased, they kept making out as if Steiglitz was hanging on for dear life, desperate to see out the end of the round and how Abraham was only ever one punch away from finishing him. They made out that Abraham was as good as he'd ever been and kept talking about how he always storms back towards the end of the round, yet it never really happened. How many times was "the percentage game" mentioned???
Aye the rounds did ebb and flow but your right there was no Felix Sturm style catch the judges eye style stuff from Abraham. Heard a lot worse from commentators though.

Anyway, I believe I said yesterday that it wasn't much of a problem for me to see some score it to Stieglitz based on workrate (although my suspicion was that many people were scoring emotionally, as he was mounting a brave late rally while knackered and getting hit trying desperately to preserve his championship) - but to balk at the very idea of it going Abraham's way? Nah, not having that. He landed the only solid shots while getting outworked, which was the story of much of the fight.
Was a close fight, AA won on my card by one. Robert received emergency medical treatment after the fight. Hope he is ok, a brave display by him. Ate so many right hands and you could tell they hurt him.

Just found it on the scene, it was to do with facial cuts thankfully. They were quite deep. All 3 were deep, Plus a closed eye. He showed heart of a champion for sure.
