but his accent and nonsensical rambling is quite entertaining imo :yep when he mispronounced "athleticism" like 3 times and just started chuckling. its pure gold :rofl then lampley always has to come in for the save
Lampley, Merchant and Foreman was the killer trio. I'm getting used to Max, he's still irritating but hey, he's pretty deep into boxing, knows all the champs, prospects and has a good eye for commentating whether you admit or not... it is his style that I don't like. I like Manny as an expert but he's not too exciting and likes to break down fights so well that you know a knockout coming a round before it really comes. :good Too expert for commentating, always complaining if somebody's making little mistakes and commentating is about something else.
Volume control is great, but Lederman pops out of nowhere. Lamp will be talking and then say 'Lederman, how do you have it...' I frantically look for the remote to mute it, but it is hidden under beer cans and whatever else. Merchant is way past it. You can actually see the braincell working overtime trying to form the words to sound intellegent but fails everytime.:-(
The best commentators are Jim Lampley and Larry Merchant, although the latter is past his prime. Al Bernstein is also very good. The worst is Ted Atlas - he seems to me to be biased against Hispanic and European fighters and isn't really the expert he pretends to be. Max Kellerman is another with silly biases for and against certain fighters, and he lacks tact in interviewing boxers.
