    Appreciate that and am aware Barnes won bronze in Beijing. You are not quite right there with your aimed questions!

    Under a long standing agreement between British and Irish Olympics commitees (forgive me i dont know who they are called) any athlete, in this case boxer, can represent EITHER GB and Northern Ireland or Ireland as legally people from N.I are entitled to dual citizenship.

    So yes 'people like Paddy' can fight in the GB squad he chose to fight in Irelands

    thats true but im not sure a boxer from northern ireland has ever boxed at olympic or international level for GB instead of ireland

    in saying that i know of a basketball player who got fed up with the lack of support and organisation in the irish set up and left to become the captain i believe for GB
