Not really. Passionate, but not wild. He was usually very controlled and technically sound. His technique was of a much more versatile variety than either of the other two. Duran mastered the more advanced techniques like feinting and angling, things that allowed him to utilise somewhat unorthodox tactics, but do so in a controlled way. Chavez and Barrera were more of the textbook boxer-puncher/pressure fighter variety. Every punch tight and thrown by the book, chin tucked in, proper hand placement, etc. Duran went beyond that.

Yes, this additional reservoir allowed an aged Duran to defeat larger, but more technically limited, top fighters. Amazing.

No wonder Chávez himself, near his peak, calmly proclaimed Durán "the best of all" the Latino fighters.
