Something not right here. I'm looking at boxrec and the potential cards for these two events. Campbell-Guzman is in Mississippi, will be televised on Showtime. That card has four 12-rounders. Three of them are world title fights. Casamayor-Marquez is at the MGM Grand in Vegas, televised on PPV. Yes, there is the Mora-Forrest rematch, that's cool (in a way). Who the hell are the other guys? Ha, I even see Andrei Arlovski's name on there for a 4-rounder, but that's doubtful considering he'll be the main feature on the Affliction PPV a few weeks later. But what gives? Am I missing something here?? Seems like the two cards should be reversed, Campbell-Guzman card, all those 12-rounders on PPV while Casamayor-Marquez should be on Showtime with Mora-Forrest as the co-feature. Wouldn't that seem better? (****, I know Casamayor-Marquez by itself is more PPV worthy than Campbell-Guzman by itself, but I'm looking at the full cards here)
Did not know that. But yea sadly for JMM he was paired up with Casamayor who i dont think has ever even headlined a PPV so the numbers for this will be low and people will bash on JMM for not bringing in enough numbers.
Showtime seems to have less big cards, so when they do they are usually stacked. I can hardly remember the last HBO PPV that had a really good undercard.
seriously, for 50 dollars we could at least get a entertaining prospect versus a cabdriver. its always two nobodies who look like ****.
I think Campbell versus Guzman is going to be a great fight. I think JMM versus Casa is going to be a great fight. I think the outcome of both fights will shock most die-hard fans!!
Thats what we been saying, the GBP JMM/Casa card is total crap and you got to be a moron to pay for that. When I first heard it was PPV, I was like Ok GBP better have this card stacked and it sounded like it when talks of Linares & Chris John would be on the card and possibly setting up a unification match between the two in the future, but now its a total dissappointment. Even if the JMM/Casa card wasnt PPV, Id still watch the Guzman/Campbell card over it.
I've thought of these fights carefully, and I don't see how Campbell can beat Guzman. I also think JMM will beat Casamayor. Casamayor is good, but JMM is a warrior. Those are my predictions.
