    ---

-Duran started his career at 120 pounds and was successful until 156 pounds.
-Pacquiao started his career at 106 pounds and has been successful until 142 pounds.

    -Duran won 2 lineal titles (135, 147) and ABC belts in 4 divisions (135, 147, 154, 160).
    -Pacquiao won 4 lineal titles (112, 126, 130, 140) and ABC belts in 4 divisions (112, 122, 130, 135).

-Duran four best wins are: Ray Leonard, Esteban de Jesus, Iran Barkley, shot Pipino Cuevas.
-Pacquiao four best wins are: Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez, Ricky Hatton, shot Erik Morales.

Duran is a Top3 ATG fighter. And Pacquiao?

BTW, Duran was able to win a belt when he was 38 years old (kinda like Mosley these days).

I doubt Pacquiao can accomplish that.

Duran won 2 lineal titles. He beat Sugar Ray and was successful at 160 where he beat Iran Barkley

-Sure. I edited that. Duran won 2 lineal titles: 135 and 147.

-He fought Barkley at 156 pounds.

Ken Buchanan could be put there instead of Pipino Cuevas. I count Carlos Palomino as a pretty good win over a decent welterweight contender.

Carlos was a former champ and not just some "decent contender".

He would have wiped the floor with many eras...but alas he had to share a divvy with Hearns, Benitez, Leonard and Duran.

I wont make Carlos to be more then what he was but the way Duran handled him was impressive..one of the most impressive performances Ive seen of any fighter.

If he beats Cotto, Mayweather and i dunno Mosley...i think we might have to start rethinking that.

i highly doubt it if pac can still win a belt when he reaches 38 even if he doesnt retire for the upcoming elections. age will take away his number 1 weapon w/c is speed.

Fair enough. My favorite Duran fight is the third one against De Jesus or the first against Leonard.

    hmm says. . .

    nice breakdown of the info.
Duran has boxed in like 4 different decades.. we'll probably won't see another fighter as durable enough to pull off such accomplishments for his age...

he has been given near god-like status on these boards.

Lineal titles are overrated, as they don't always speak to the strength of the champ.

It's the quality of the guys you beat for the belts.
