Comparing duran and pacquiao

Winning titles in multiple weight classes is totally overrated. Many of the old champions fought in 8 weight classes, and many of today's champions who won titles in 5 or 6 different weight classes did not face the best fighter in that division.

 

Duran won 3 lineal titles, and 4 titles in 4 different divisions.

 

Duran should not be in the same sentence as Pac.

 

duran was a great boxer and so is pac..

pac lost a fight to morales but was not brutally KO'd!

Pac was ko'D by a class B fighter when he himself was a class b fighter..
Pac was still a NOBODY that time!

Duran was BRUTALLY KO'd by HEARNS when was already a "somebody"
He was very popular when was KO'd by HEARNS.

Pacquiao has never beat a Sugar Ray Leonard or anyone close to the Leonard Duran beat.

 

Duran whould stop Manny in any weight class no dout about it , it whould be a war for 4 or 5 rounds and then Game Over Pacman , Duran was just in a different class to Pac , Pac is a superb fighter at the top of his game and if he where to retire today you could argue he is in the top 50 ATG's list but if he has any hope of being spoken about in the same class as Duran his gotta fight Marquez again and show us he can beat him without dout preferbly stopping Marquez , Stop Cotto in good fashion and then fight Mayweather and win by convincing UD or KO if he achieves all the above and retires with wins over , Morales 2 , Barrera , Marquez ( Gotta Beat Him without any ?'s ) , De La Hoya , Hatton , Cotto , Mayweather , then i think on the fighters his beat alone you gotta put him top 10 ATG's list at which point you can mention him in the same breath as Duran

 

im not prepared to make that comparison yet,pac is still active but i dont think he'll ever be truly comparable to duran,maybe ill be proven wrong tho

you are talking about Tommy ****ing Hearns man, not to take anything away from Morales he is one of my favorite fighters but Hearns had legendary power man he was 6'1" and a true MW not a featherweight

roberto duran would destroy pacquiao before the fifth round. anyone who thinks otherwise just doesn't have an idea. while pacquiao has had great success with careful matchmaking, roberto duran never ducked anyone and fought bigger and younger opponents.

pacquiao should never be compared to fighters like duran, julio cesar chavez, sugar ray leonard, thomas hearns, (prime) de la hoya, kostya tszyu, (prime) erik morales and juan manuel marquez who has gotten two rotten corrupt decisions against him.
