I had a discussion with a friend who said Carl Froch recent fighting record is properly one the best around at the moment for the fighters he has fought. I didnt disagree with him. But it got me thinking about one of the fighters he has fought, Jermain Taylor, IMO Taylor has a better record of fighting better fighters then Froch, he disagreed. So I thought I throw it out to you guys. Let's say there last 13 fights, both have fought around 13 fights since 2005 or so (12 for Froch as I'll state Johnson as his 13th fight due to it being confirmed).

Taylor has fought Joppy, Edouard, Hopkins, Hopkins, Wright, Ouma, Spinks, Pavlik, Pavlik, Lacy, Froch, Abraham*

Froch has fought Groneonewald, Magee, Dobson, Tatevosyan, Reid, Rybacki, Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, Johnson

    What do you guys think???

Good thread. Taylor never got the credit he deserved.

A bit hard to compare considering the way the careers overlap.

Froch hasn't been at the top level as long, so I would say taylor but I expect that to change by next year.

I think Taylors fought very good opposition he's got a very good record where oppositions quality is concerned he just had a bit of a bad streak after the pavlik losses.

To me, the names on Taylor's side are better, based on the early going. Froch is on an impressive run from the last 3 years and counting. Taylor has 4 losses, but if you are looking at strictly names, and not results, then that's how I see it.
