Ocasio was OBVIOUSLY Lewis best win prior to his contention for a title.

Sadly, even this spent, jab only version of KJ woulda outworked and probably stopped that old version of Ocasio that Lewis fought.

We couldve actually saw KJ coming forward behind the jab. The guy actually has a solid R cross when on the front foot.:patsch

We still have to see how AJ improved his defense. He's very good offensively, but his defense wasn't tested by any of his pro opponents

He seems on a par with Lewis at this stage...and who would disagree WAY WAY ahead of Wilder.......

Fury beat unbeaten Marcelo Luiz Nascimento going into his 14th fight like AJ is now.
When he beat him , he then took the Zero from Derrick Chisora.

In his 8th fight Fury had already beaten MacDermot who was coming off two wins against Danny Williams and also a much better version of Sprott than AJ beat.
And also a win over Pele Reed who knocked out Vitali Klitschko.

Fury had done much better work than AJ when they were at the same point in their careers.
And he had none of AJs experience either.

While most of us believed Fury was given an absolute gift of McNugget, he has redeemed himself quite well taking on almost a dozen top 30 including a few top 15s and winning them all farily comfortably.

There is no doubt that Fury is here to stay so long as he doesnt bottle it emotionally like he did when he saw Ustinov looking lean and mean at the weigh in. He also has a tendency to fall into depression when fights go south.

He was talking retirement when Haye pulled out X2, and that not a good sign from a guy who is quite literally a top 10 HW in a division that is no more than 18 months from being wide open.

I rate AJs win over KJ faaaaaarrrr more impressive than I do Fury's over a slightly less shopworn version, but then again, every time KJ came forward towards Tyson, Fury would quickly get out of range and flick the jab.

It was clearly a fight he was not looking for anything resembling a dominant win, but rather a fight in which he was looking to cruise to a comfortable shutout decision knowing that KJ has NOTHING without his jab, and Fury has a huge reach advantage over him.

Joshua vs Fury would be a great fight, but at this stage, it's not worth making until they're both holding or positioned for a title.

If I were Tyson, I'd wait out the Chagaev vs Pianeta winner, and make that fight.

I think Tyson would probably beat Pianeta something like 117-110 with both men scoring KDs.

Winning the WBA title, he could defend easily against Browne, making and even more impresive resume, than he could defend vs the likes of Oquendo, and very possibly get Haye back into the ring for a HUGE payday before attempting unification with whichever fighters are holding Wlad's vacated titles. :think:good:good:good

TBF, Wilder was hit a few times by Stiverne. We have seen him on his backfoot and taking shots.

Not so with Joshua since he was an amateur... and he didn't fare very well.

Joshua looks solid. But lets wait until he beats a Top10 opponent.

You are a pro starting from your pro debut. Otherwise I am a pro boxer too just waiting for my debut. If AJ had suffered a career ending injury before his pro debut he would not have ever been a pro boxer. If I stopped fighting in the ams at 18 then went on a 10 year mission to Nepal and had my pro debut at 28 would I be a 10 year pro when I had my first fight? You think weird.
