I feel there was similarities between these two fights, excessive movement from Jones and Leonard, Duran and Toney struggling to get off, so what were the similarities and what were the differences between these two fights? Who threw more punches Duran or Toney? Which of these fighters threw more punches 1-8? After the 8th Toney didn`t throw many shots anyway.

lol I`ve seen both fights around 16 times over the years, I watched the Jones fight the same month they fought in `94 but was only 5 when 'no mas' took place.

The excuses that the fans use to take credit away from Leonard and Jones

Excessive movement isn't an excuse, it's a strategy that utilises one's athleticism and in no way does it remove any credit.

It stopped Leonard and Roy from landing that many shots in those respective bouts a little like AJ v Ruiz but not as bad.

The similarities of the two fights is the fact Duran and Toney didn't prepare like professional fighters for a title fight. This is the reason Leonard and Jones didn't get any credit , everyone knew they didn't beat those fighters at their best. I was favoring Toney in the Jones fight but when he showed up in such pitiful condition I was amazed that Roy didn't stop him. Duran's management knew he wasn't ready , during training Duran was described as listless and Arcel wanted to postpone the fight but the others thought even if Duran loses they'll be a rematch. This fight seemed to be the beginning of Toney's weight woes, and Duran's also . There was no reason for Duran to go to 154 other than the fact he didn't want to get into proper condition.

Toney had to lose 40 pounds in 2 weeks for this fight. No one to blame but himself but even RJJ admits Toney was the best fighter he ever fought and struggled to penetrate Toneys defense. He did what he had to do to win but Toneys over confidence robbed us of what this fight should have been

In fairness, Mike Trainer was very cute in triggering the re-match. Duran had, as always, been living like a maniac after the first fight. Due to the fact that he already owed most of the purse from the first fight in Tax and various other debts he already needed the money for the second fight. The date set gave him 9 weeks to get in shape which, given Duran's lifestyle between fights, was never going to be long enough.
As regards a postponement, no chance. Not without a certificate from a Doctor that Trainer approved of.
