It would be hard to argue with the conclusions drawn by the thread starter. In two fights Pacquiao got more buys than Floyd did in one of Floyd's. Unless, of course, you took Floyd vs. Oscar where Floyd would win this by 500-600k based on the fights chosen.

Lets not forget that Floyd did more numbers with Mosley than Oscar and Pacquiao could do together. It is what it is, it's hard to believe people try to deny this.

    1. Floyd can't compete in what discussion? His numbers are flat out better than Pacquiao's. It's not disputable whatsoever.

    2. Add them up and see what the numbers tell you. Five of Pacquiao's against four of Floyd's.

different subject but people talk about ppv numbers best u believe that the best ppv number was trinidad vs oscar because they made over 1 million ppv buys and back in those days people were stealing cable with the scrabblers so back then if it was like its is today that fight would hold ppv records

My point was Pac sells very well even without his most die hard fans. Wheteher they can afford it or not is not the question. Because nobody really knows how many of those would have spent that money. Bottom line is Pac sells big in the US alone. Not bad for a foreigner. I'd say he's the PPV king among non-Amercians.

I really dont care about PPV. Boxing is not about who is the PPV KING, its about proving who is the best Fighter.

    Wow.

Even by ESB standards, the 'logic' of the OP is inexplicable.

even career-wise, Pac has sold more PPV than Floyd.

Floyd has a higher average, but he also fights alot less. If Floyd fought more, his average would drop. If Pac fought less, his average would increase. When a product is more rare, people are more willing to shell out $$ to buy it.

As for Floyd making 40M$ against Mosley, it doesn't add up. He made about 27M tops.

Mayweather is the PPV King simply because more people will pay to watch him!

Manny probably gets more people watching his fights especially when you consider how big he is in the phillipines. But that doesnt contribute to the numbers.

People trying to use all kinds of reasoning to say that less = more? LOL Manny doesnt generate as many PPV's Floyd, just accept it!

There's no issue he is a great fighter, but so was Prime Roy Jones Jr and look at his figures it isnt necessarily your skill or personality that makes you a PPV star!

how can you say less = more? Pacquiao has more PPV sales in 2010, more PPV sales in 2009, more PPV sales in 2008, and more PPV sales over his entire career. More = more. Pac has more PPV sales than FLoyd.
