Yah, he might have to land a few low blows like Cotto did to Judah. Not saying that the end result would've been different. Just saying that Cotto isn't much of an angel either.

That said Hatton should have been more aware of the kinda tricks that would be done but that still doesn't excuse them.

what's really funny about that video is how it shows how shitty a boxer Hatton raally is. see how he rushes in and looks to clinch and shove before he even punches. once he wraps you up, he tries to push you to the ropes and grab your arms, punch, clinch and repeat. Floyd took that away from him. another thing is that Floyd bends to duck punches and Hatton is so stupid, he just falls in behind any punch he throws, so if floyd didn't duck, they would end up in a clinch anyway. Hatton didn't get too many good shots in because he got too close to Floyd and when he wasn't trying to clinch, he was smothering his own shots anyway!!! Overall, Floyd is a great fighter and he beat Hatton at his own game and the american ref didn't bail him out like a british ref would have. SO STOP ****ING CRYING!!!!!!!!!

You know, despite the fact that a lot of people are mocking the vid and thread creator, he actually does have somewhat of a point here. Mayweather DID use a lot of dirty/illegal tactics. What's even worse, however, is how Cortez continually warns Hatton (and even takes a point off for a punch that never even landed) and yet seems utterly oblivious to the NUMEROUS amount of illegal moves that Mayweather makes. That right there is the main annoying point when you watch the video.

Would Hatton have won without the biased ref and with no dirty tactics from Mayweather? Most likely not. That doesn't excuse it, though.

 

People that always whine about a guy using illegal tactics (unless we're talking something real extreme and dangerous) must not watch enough boxing, because if you watch enough you get used to it and expect the world class fighters to know tricks and how to bend the rules to their advantage.

If you actually watch the whole fight you will see the numerous EQUAL dirty deeds by hatton like head lock and hit or pin and hold the ropes and hit. This video even shows hatton charging in throwing ELBOWS>.lol If you watch the fight the dirty deeds was equal. The ref did warn hatton more but thats b/c hatton did not box. He just rushed in like an idiot. What does a boxer do to nullify a bum rush. Hold or get the **** out the way to set up again. Hatton literally ran at him out of boxing stance. lol

some people don't know what bad refereeing is. look at the fight between Ottke and Reid and you'll see the worst ref in the world!!!!!!!!

i think floyd knew hatton was dirty. and it is common knowledge that hatton elbowed and butted his way to victory against tszyu.

i think cortez wanted to be man of the house and make it a clean fight.. when there were dirty moves he woudl penalise hatton for it.floyd used cortez's strict reffing to detrement hatton

thats tactics, somthing that goes far beyond the odd low blow or somthing.
