Hi. I've been wondering, there is not a single gym in my area. I was wondering if it was possible to somehow compete in the amateurs without being a member of a gym. I've been watching videos on techniques and my cousin and my friends been training me and such. Is it possible?
Not possible, you need a registered trainer in your corner. And even if it was possible, you won't learn boxing from watching a few videos and backyard sparring. All it would accomplish is getting yourself beaten up a few times.
hmmmmmmmmmmm, i think that you'll end up like this guy <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8JW2w5BKE-0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8JW2w5BKE-0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
I think you're wrong about the RDJ, you indeed need to have a registered trainer but I'm pretty sure anyone can get registered. Fighting without a gym will classify you as "unattached."
It is possible. You have to register as unattached. Someone will corner you there, this is why coaches attend clinics and someone will corner you when you go to an event. With this said, it is absolutely the wrong way to go about this. Where are you located?
