Complete Beginner...

    8 weeks is a short time to learn boxing. I'd say focus on cardio, and learn how to relax when sparring. This will give you the best chance of outworking your opponent. Truthfully, for beginners - their biggest letdown is cardio.

    Thanks guys...

    So in summary, work on cardio, practise the basic techniques and then work on cardio some more!

    I think the wall sits are paramount to performance

    Some good advice from ant-man and jasper2005; wall sits are indeed key in building aerobic/anaerobic capacity and functional strength, according to various Harvard studies.

    Also punch him in the nuts, if the ref chooses not to dq you and the other fighter cannot continue you win vio tko under the new rules

    ha ha thanks guys..

    I'm quickly finding out that it's all about the stamina and fitness rather than nailing any particular boxing technique.

    I do my drills, trying to put combinations together and get my feet in the right positions etc etc but I think when it comes down to it whoever is in the best condition come the third round will stand the best chance :)
