Ricardo Lopez, JC Chavez, Pac, Juan Manuel Marquez, Napoles, Erik Morales, M.A. Barrera, Hopkins, Hagler, Leonard, Ali, Pernell Whitaker, Mosley, Tyson before Buster Douglas and Jail, Roy Jones. One guy that gets honorable mention is Chiquita Gonzalez...the brawler turned boxer vs Carbajal. His rematch showed the guy could actually box. Maybe I am being nostalgic....
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Jofre. The man was the definition of complete, almost a mini-Robinson.
I wasn't comparing him to Robinson stylistically, just making a very basic comparison of their well-roundedness and dominance at their respective prime weights.
Benny Leonard and Ray Leonard. (No relation) Pernell Whitaker had decent power espicily at lightweight.
I like SRL straight up. From my era i thought early Gomez was great, aside from between the ears Hagler had a well rounded arsenal, Duran might be mentioned. SRR going back a bit. Whitaker doesn't have the power to be mentioned in this conversation IMO. Charles comes close. If you don't mark hard you end up with a shitload.
Before he ever fought? Hard to say on film, but would Joe Gans tickle your fancy? Or Jack Johnson? Haven't seen enough of Pancho Villa, but he looked capable to say the least.
Barney Ross could do a bit of everything, when we talk complete i do mean in a stylistic sense by the way, not complete as in attributes ie 'he had power, speed, everything'
