The difference between Young and Byrd is controversial decisions. Most fans had Young beating Ali and Norton, while most fans had Byrd losing to Oquendo and Golota. If Young had Foreman, Norton and Ali on his register he becomes considered an ATG. Awaits steam to burst out of Boxing Ears, ears

 

It's an underrated performance by Byrd - as many still see it today as a one-sided domination by Vitali with Byrd escaping with the victory by accident.

After the Norton fight Young got into coicane and a bunch of other negative ****. It says in his bio that he would drink beer after sparring. Apparently he lost a lot of his motivation after having so many bad decisions.

Anyways, Young would school most of Byrd's opponents. Would befuddle Vitali and probably would do much better against Ike.

I don't see Byrd beating Ali, Norton, Ocasio, Foreman, Lyle, or Cooney.

 

You forgot Tony Tucker, Greg Page, and Marvin stinson on Young's resume. He also fought Lyle twice which you didn't mention.

When did Young beat Tucker m8? Tucker was undefeated until Tinkerbell Tyson beat him - so was it in teh 1990s?? :think

 

The thing is Golota and Oquendo were never equal to Ali and Norton. not to mention he really beat Dokes and Shavers too. Over all Young has a greater winning resume.

 

He never beat Tucker. Mongoose was just naming all the guys that Byrd fought, win or lose. So Young fought Tucker and Page, and did well against them, even if he lost.
