I really don't get why they wanted to keep him in Strikeforce. He's one of the best heavyweights in the world, he now has Werdum on his record and there's a lot of questions about how he'd match up against the best in the world and it would be fascinating to see him against Cain or JDS. I will never understand why they wouldn't invite him over, or at least have him wait out the tournament and get even more exposure. They're ****ing absolute idiots.

Once again, the TRUE Heavyweight Champion of the World is not fighting in the UFC.

And he's done what to convince you that he's the "true Heavyweight Champion of the World"? Here's his list of victims since getting his Fragile Mandible shattered by Kharitonov.

    Buentello- Shot journeyman
    Lee Tae-Hyun- Bum
    Hunt- Shot one-dimensional kickboxer
Mirko- NC after destroying Mirko's body and nuts. And Mirko sucks now.
    Goodridge- Punch drunk stiff
    Tony Sylvester- Tomato Can
James Thompson- ATG Glass Jawed Joke
    Kazayuki Fujita- Shot journeyman
    Brett Rogers- Overrated stiff
Todd Duffee- Glass Jawed Roid Head
    Fabricio Werdum- Solid HW

That definitely looks like the resume of the best in the world to me.:patsch

Yeah, that is completely pathetic that a MW who dabbled at HW a couple times has a more impressive HW resume than this guy that everyone is blowing for being the best in the world because he won a K-1 title and has big muscles.

I'm not saying that Overeem is a fraud because he isn't. He's a legit HW with legit skills and he could possibly beat the best in the world but he's done nothing of the sort and has been feasting on cans and his own image rather than making a legitimate case for being the best fighter in the world.

That's why I want to see him face the best. No-one can deny Overeem vs. Cain, Carwin or JDS wouldn't be tasty.

    Exactly.

Overeem has all the tools to be a great heavyweight and has looked very impressive recently (bar the Werdum fight) but people often act like he's already got the achievements, not just the potential. That's one of the reasons I'm pissed the Strikeforce GP has been derailed, fighting Bigfoot and then the Sergei/Barnett winner would have allowed him the chance to get some real names on his resume.

Heavyweight doesn't really have an ascendant fighter with a star-studded resume. Since the old guard has gone into decline, the closest would be Junior Dos Santos or Cain Velasquez - both have a mix of past prime legends (Crocop, Big Nog), solid B listers (Kongo, Rothwell, Gonzaga, Nelson) and recent top ten competition (Lesnar, Werdum, Carwin) on the win sheet. I'd rate the recent accomplishments of both over Overeem since 2007, so in my eyes the winner of that fight has to be considered the best around.

What if Bigfoot wins the thing, 3rd best? Surely beating Fedor & Barnett/Sergei would put him up there
