If you look on YouTube this tournament from the late 60's has been in part posted. The results themselves are worthless but you get to hear comments from past champions such as Willard, Sharkey and Schmeling as well as writers, historians and trainers. Some of the more interesting comments: Sharkeys feeling that Ali would beat Schmeling easily. Sharkey strongly affirming that Dempsey hit harder than Louis..."If Dempsey hits you on the hip he breaks your hip"....etc. Willard stating he felt in a fair fight he could have beaten any opponent. Willards recollection that he koed Johnson with an uppercut (untrue) and that Max Baer was more of a clown than a fighter. Fleischer stating Dempsey hit a bit harder than Louis (affirming Sharkey) Fleischer stating Louis would stop Dempsey in 6 rounds. Interesting here as Nat rated Dempsey higher all time and had earlier felt Dempseys fast start would overwhelm Louis. Nats opinion over time from the early 50's to late 60's was quite different in this regard. An interesting few hours of listening for sure.
What do I punch in I tried 60s computerized tournament and few other similar searches and didn't receive the right hits. I'll try radio broadcast thx
