    Con Sheehan is a 6'5 25 year old Heavyweight who just turned pro. Born in Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland. "Irish" Con Sheehan just recently signed with Gary Hyde Promotions and Gary may have snagged quite the prospect. With an impressive 208-18 record as an amateur Sheehan is a six-time Irish National Senior Division champion, four of the titles were at heavyweight and the other two were at super heavyweight, and he's also has a gold medal he won at the European Championships. In 2008, at the very young age of 18 he became the youngest Irish Senior heavyweight champion in history, and he won a total of 13 Irish championships in other amateur competitions. While he's a massive lad and weighs 235 pounds he doesn't move like a lumbering giant, he quite quick on his feet. So as he enters the pro game like his former Irish National Teammate Carl Frampton will he go on to dominate and become a force to be reckoned with? Well he seems to have a few of the intangibles to make it, the kid has quite a few flaws but hopefully he can hook up with a good trainer and iron them out.     He's working with Virgil Hunter in San Francisco now you know? He has potential, i think Virgil can get quite a lot of him because Con has skills.

    As an irish man I hope conny Sheehan does well but you describe them like they are monsters

    Bump it when he has his first pro fight:good

    Pretty unusual choice I thought at first, Hunter working with some pretty unknown Irish heavy. But there you have it.

    Ok fair enough what about Hughie ?

    I know what you're saying trying to get some recognition for them I just wish they were all that good imagine how great boxing would be.

    No obvious weaknesses but no obvious strengths either.

    He does have some good international amateur experience. But he wasn't an international amateur star either. :think

    At least he appeared to have sound fundamentals and understood the value of conditioning. :happy


    Also, in the pro ranks Sheehan will have to compete against the likes of Cojanu and Andy Ruiz :smooch


    Maybe He'll be somewhat like a heavyweight version of Philip Holliday and Paul Spadafora; the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.:cool:


    Now we know who he is when we see his name in the "Heavyweights" thread and knowing is half the battle:thumbsup
