Concerning PBF: what could Cotto do that Hatton and Castillo couldn't?

    Fair enough

I don't see it this way; I see him applying smart pressure throughout the fight.

Exactly how I see it. Plus, as you said, Cotto answers being hit with good strong combinations instead of winging haymakers and sloppy shots. He almost always answers back and has underrated handspeed so he usually hits when he answers. He is also ten times the "boxer" that Hatton is.....I don't understand how people cannot see this

if you look at the judah and mosley fight yes cotto put on pressure but he still allowedd it to be a boxing match(i think he outboxed both of them) IMO cotto is a boxer/puncher who walks you down..i dont think he puts more pressure than AM

If Cotto could do what Castillo could, his bigger power would make him win. I still believe that Castillo beat Mayweather.

This guy wins..there's a difference between agression (Hatton against Floyd) and EFFECTIVE agression. Cotto is a very good effective aggressor. He pushes the fight, swarms well and doesn't forget his jab. He's a much better boxer than people give him credit for. Cotto is not gonna walk in with his head down and his fists flailing like Hatton did.

Cotto is also a lot faster than people give him credit for...I think a lot of people just assume he's a slow fighter because of how goofy he looks at times.

Floyd would win...but Cotto does have a few tools that Floyd fans don't seem to acknowledge. It wouldn't be a walkthrough, I'm sure we'd all agree that.

this can't be stated as fact till the fight happens...

    but cotto will not win
it will not be an exciting fight
and pbf will win by a good margin, simply by landing utterly clean, precise and accurate punches

How many people that don't give Cotto a chance against PBF didn't give Quintana a chance against Williams. It is truly impossible to say until they get in the ring together.
It is one of the best fights that can be made in boxing and I give Cotto a 50-50 shot at winning. Cotto doesn''t use defense as much as Mayweather mostly because he is on the offensive almost all of the time, doesn't mean he doesn't have one, just different styles, it is like saying Mayweather doesn't have any offense. Cotto will get to Mayweather like no one ever has including Castillo in the first fight which I have as Floyd's first loss. Cotto is better, bigger and faster than Hatton, Corralles, Castillo and better than Oscar was at his best.

I'm pretty sure i can be quoted as saying quintana will be a harder opponent than most expect. The same cannot be said for cotto right now vs. PBF.
