I'll back Hatton against Pac but if he ever fights JMM then I'll be suporting JMM.

Pac for excitement and history. He is the modern day Henry Armstrong.

 

This is a decent thread, ive clicked that i like all the fighters listed for they're abilities in the ring but there is plenty about Khan, Hatton and Haye i dont like, but thats to do with they're personalities/un-earned hype/managerial decisions ..
Carl Froch is exempt from any criticism as far as im concerned, he has shown a real hunger for a challenge no matter were he has to fight. Hes fought a decent guy in Pascal to get the title and now he's facing a very good fighter, who isnt over 35, in Jermain Taylor away from home in America. You didnt get Joe Calzaghe showing that kind of ambition, with Joe it was always never-ending complaints about hand injuries, people mysteriously ducking him and the fact he has no dream to fight in America so he stayed in the comfort of his own country ..
Anyway this thread isnt about Calzaghe.

Hatton -- Ive followed Ricky his whole career and ive been a big fan. Like Calzaghe, it took him an age to fight anybody with any real class and like Calzaghe again his opponent was over 35 and past his best (before some of you guys bang on about how good Kessler is, he hasnt proved anything, the only thing hes proved is he can go 12 with Joe, Robin Reid did that and it was damn closer for me) .. Hatton's fighting style is fairly awful to watch but not everybody can be Sugar Ray Leonard or Roy Jones.
A very annoying thing about Hatton is his blaming of Billy Graham and the referee for his loss to Mayweather. If he actually thinks that then hes an idiot, you could have put Ricky's dad in as referee and Floyd would have knocked him out. Ricky should have said, 'Hey i fought the best P4P fighter in the world and came off second best, theres no disgrace in that'. Incidentally i give him a serious shot at Pac but he has to do it early, Hatton fades badly late on. Pac isnt the beast everyone makes him out to be, hes a great fighter but i seen a faded Morales deal with him easy and Marquez should have got the nod in that first fight with they're second being a draw ..

Khan -- I dont like Khan because in many ways he is a Frank Warren and a media creation. He wins a silver medal being totally outclassed by Kindelan, then a few months down the line, Kindelan is brought over having been totally bought off by Warren to 'put over' Khan .. Over the last 4 years we've seen Khan struggle his way through a collection of domestic bums before being knocked out by Prescott in 1 round on PPV .. How is Khan PPV ?? Why are we expected to pay £15 to watch a guy who has fast hands but hasnt got any power or chin ..
Khan is a millionaire before hes proven his worth but thats down to the morons who listen to Frank Warren's bull**** ..
How the hell can the WBO recognise Amir Khan as they're number 1 contender ? There has to be an investigation into the WBO because it is clearly EVEN MORE corrupt than the WBC. How can an organisation have a guy thats beaten Gomez, ***an, Limond, Earl and Barrera (who shouldnt even be any in ratings at Lightweight) as they're number 1 contender when he has beaten ABSOLUTELY NOBODY of any note ..
Khan is a puppet and a money maker for Frank Warren, real boxing fans know it and thats the reason he's disliked so much. Amir is a decent, affable guy but if Warren is standing next to him then people will always want to see him get knocked out ..

David Haye -- I like Haye as a boxer, i think he has talent and is very exciting. I start to go off him when he opens his mouth, this guy comes across as the most arrogant guy in boxing apart from James Degale but the difference is, Haye is intelligent, Degale sounds like an idiot, is an idiot and hes simply a guy who likes the 'bling' and the 'flash' more than boxing .. Degale has zero chance of making it in my opinion .. Anyway back to Haye, this guy beats Bonin and Barrett at heavyweight and thinks he can start calling all the shots to the Klitschko's because in his mind, he's the saviour of the heavyweight division when in fact, like Khan he's beaten ABSOLUTELY NOBODY of any significance in the division .. Its totally ridiculous .. He thinks hes the second coming of Ali

As i say, i like all these guys when they are in the ring its just the things outside the ring that makes me shake my head and think, 'I hope im there when this guy gets knocked out'

 

1. David Haye - Don't particularly like him but can't fault his attitude. Couldn't care one way or the other if he wins or loses.

2. Ricky Hatton - Got to give him credit for chasing the big fights, boring to watch and constantly puts other fighters down whilst bigging himself up, but tries to do it in a polite underhand way. Out of control ego, very easy to see through.

3. Amir Khan - I'm right behind Khan now that Prescott did him a favour and knocked him the **** out. His fights are exciting because of his speed and his china chin. A lot of his supposed arrogance is down to being thick as ****, after reading his book realised he's still got the mind of a teenager.

4. Carl Froch - How can you not like Froch after his last fight?

Yeah, I'm with you on this one. He's obviously very impressionable and with Warren constatntly whispering trash into ear it's perhaps not his fault.

I Like:- Hatton and Froch.

I dislike:- Khan and Haye.

I wasnt to fussed with Froch but he has won me round.

 

Its pretty complicated for me than just saying i like or dont like. But this is what i put


Like
Haye - Was a great cruiser weight obv. Charismatic and his arrogance and the way he conducts himself before fights reminds me (vaguely) of Ali. He can sell fights and to me he always has that twinkle in his eye and its all tounge and cheek. Wish he would have built up his heavyweight carear however managing to get the fight he did with valuev and get in at the deep end was very clever managment. Hes now got more barganing power with the Klitscho's and i hope to see him do the job against both of them ( but dont think he will )

Froch- I always liked froch alot, always thought he wasnt the best fighter in the world but his grit and determination always brings him through. however recently his coments are getting on my nerves alot. He talks the talk like haye but i dont think he can walk the walk and is going to get humbled fairly soon (which is a shame in a way)


Dislike-

Hatton- Used to love hatton until i got to know more about boxing. realise now he is and always has been a good fighter but not a great fighter. Which there is nothing wrong with that and there is nothing wrong with loosing to the two best fighters in the world. But his personality and his comments just get on my nerves now, he repeats himself alot. His life style also gets on my nerves a bit, he says its never interferred with his fighting but maybe after getting knocked out in 2 rounds he should re-evaluate that theory. However no one can deny what he has done for british boxing in recent years.

Khan- Iv put dislike but i actually do like him as a person i just think he has become a product of his own hype. I think he should have been brought up slowley and surley instead of having the manufactered carear he has had so far. Those sort of carears dont carry any longevity in my oppinon and they seem to fall apart overnight. That being said it wasnt all his fault and its not too late to change the best thing he has done is go to america imo. I think it will really open his eyes and hope him all the best.

There you go my novice oppinion i could go into far more detail but i cant be arsed lol.

In summary i dont really dislike any of them as such and certainly dont hate any of them.

1. David Haye

Love him - he can be infantile and disrespectful out of the ring, but once he's in you can see how well he prepares for his opponents and how comprehensive his gameplan is. Good skills, big power and the sort of competitive attitude, mixed with business sense, that makes him easy to admire.

2. Ricky Hatton

Delusional, arrogant, boring fool. Looks great when beating up past prime , light hitting or smaller guys. Looks poor when fighting anyone with a single physical advantage over him. And he's ugly as sin to boot, with a fake "comic" persona (though I did love him with the ear-guards on when Floyd was yapping at him).

3. Amir Khan

I dislike him because he's been handed so much opportunity and won't go for better fights than he does. People forget that he's Warren's boss, not the other way round. As a fighter, I admire his improvement and the gameplan he stuck to against Kotelnik, but he clearly doesn't have much on his shots at LWW, which means his future will most likely be in-out, pitter-patter displays.

4. Carl Froch

I like him as a person, and find him funny, but he's so poor as a fighter I'm amazed he's even got a title. He has some skills, but abandons them for sloppy power-punches and trying to bang the other guy out. His behaviour post-Dirrell was just fantasy talk - he looked dreadful in that fight because he had no tactics to speak of.

But I do admire his desire to fight the best in his division, which i would think most people would.

 

Haye

Love him, exciting fighter. Great entertainer. Limited boxer but when did that ever matter?

Hatton

Love him the most. Gave me trips to Vegas, the opportunity to see the best boxer on the planet in the flesh. Awesome fight nights. Got the casual fan back into the sport.

Khan

Hated him - but that's changing. He comes across fairly humble in interviews these days. Still dont think he's that good like. Fairly neutral on Khan at this moment.

Froch

Strange one for me. I just cant warm to him. Dont know why. Back in the days when he was just another domestic, all the Calzaghe talk got on my nerves. He's toned that right down but I still dont like him. And, I dont think he's that exciting either. He's got a crackin KO reel, but his fights for me are all a little mundane (obviously Taylor fight apart). I want him to do well but I'm not his biggest fan. If I had to pick between watching a Froch fight and watching any of the other three fight I'd go for any of the others ahead of him (presuming the importance and respective opponents are all equal).
