Ok we all have our favorite fighters and sometimes we seem to be a little biased or sometime even blind when debating about them. We also have fighters that we can't stand and hope they lose everytime they step foot in a ring. Here is your chance to confess your love and hate for fighters that you have and all is in good fun. I will start first but please be advised that you may very well be called out in the future about this. Here we go Floyd is my favorite fighter and I admit he has had to boring matches recently. I will pay 55 bucks to see him fight Oscar again and I actually think he lost the first fight to Castillo. I can't stand Manny Pacman and everytime he fights I hope someone rings his bell. Erik Morales was one of my favorite fighter so it pained me to see Manny stop him twice.
i never admitted this before but... i like watching floyd fight, what puts me off is the people he hangs out with, his fake on screen persona and his fan boys who say things like "he doesn't have to fight cotto, cotto will be too easy, he will get schooled" if thats the case wouldn't you want to see this fight even more?
I have never given James Toney any credit. I hate the fat piece of **** and hope I never see him in the ring again unless it's against Wlad or Vitali. I like Manny Pac, but despise his ugly oversized mustache and as long as it remains on his face I'll hate on him as well. Since he was exposed as the racist piece of **** ex-con that he is I hate on B-Hop and refuse to post a positive thing about him. God let Calzaghe pound him into retirement in embarassing fashion. I do not like Antonio Tarver. Sergio Mora and Peter Manfredo make me sick. I am completely unbiased and rationally balanced while posting about Oscar Delahoya, Winky Wright and Wlad Klit.
seriously your post represents like 50% of the board. as for me. I'm a huge fan of any fighter out of Montreal and that includes Bute, Alcine, Ngoudjo and Pascal. Bute could beat Calzaghe, Alcine could beat anyone from 154 down, including Floyd, Ngoudjo could beat Hatton and Pascal would beat Miranda. I am confident in all these picks except Bute over JC. As for hater I can't stand JMM. The guy gets rated so highly because he fought 2 close fights against Pacquiao. IMO Pacquiao beat him both times by 1 point. Every great fighter has a good fighter who gives him stylistic problems and for Manny that guy is Marquez, but he still beat his ass! Also i thought John beat JMM and that was before i hated JMM. The guy is overrated and i simply can't appreciate his fights cause i don't like him. Marquez is to Pacquiao what Castillo is to Floyd i guess, with the exception that i had Castillo winning the 1st fight but Marquez losing both.
I second what Relentless said about Floyd. Hell, I have only recently developed a dislike for Floyd and it stems from actions outside the ring more than anything in particular he has done in the ring. That is why I am able to say things like, "He is definatly one of the best boxers of this generation,' while at the same time hopeing he gets ko'd so he'd actually have to start proving it once in a while again. There is nothing wrong with being either a fanboy or a hater. The problem arises when people don't realize what they are. *Warning... non boxing example ahead. I am a Buffalo Bills fan and every week during the football season I am firm in my belief that they have a shot and can win the game regardless of the opponent. Of course... most weeks they hardly have a shot and end up blowing it if they somehow manage to keep it close. At the same time I loathe the New England Patriots and cheer against them fanatically. This doesn't mean I don't recognize they are probably one of the most dominate teams in any sport in the past decade. What it means is that I call Tom Brady gay at every oppurtunity!
I used to hate Floyd with a passion but after he fought Hatton and we had proper exposure of him in the UK (Hatton Mayweather 24/7) and saw he's a different person i respect him a lot more now. Either way i knew now as i knew before he's one helluva boxer!! I do like Joe Calzaghe but like its been said already im gutted he didnt fight the best fighters. I hate B-Hop and im glad Calzaghe is fighting him, i truly believe Calzaghe will win! Even though i hate him i respect his accolades and i do kinda like his trash talking.
You'd like that wouldn't you Relentless? Is that because BoD wipes his ass with your idiotic posts on a Daily basis around here, embarassed and beat you in your own stupid poll or because Jack Presscot loves him more then you? :think Maybe all 3. Now run along oreo
ok , i used to hate on floyd hard , i mean big time , after he beat gatti i wanted to see anyone beat him , but as gatti's career unfolded i'd have to have quite a few fighters if beating gatti was the reason to hate them , floyd's on tv personality just pissed me off constantly , but i've come to appreciate floyds talents , i didn't root for him vs ricky because i like ricky better but i don't hate the guy anymore and can say he has the most talent out of any fighter today . i wanted to hate kelly pavlik after beating miranda like he stole something , but kelly's too good of a person and fighter to hate , the guy is really down to earth and deserves the sucess he's having , so kelly made me a fan . im biased towards miranda , joe calzaghe , and even ricky hatton those guys are my fav fighters along w/ michael katsidis now too , the only fighters i can say i hate on now are james toney because he's been caught cheating 2 times now , has looked like crap in his last 2 fights and still is running his mouth , and alan green because well he's a a$$hole , i felt bad for him about his colon situation , but regardless im most likely still gonna hate on him, and i think him no showing his fight on espn fnf is complete b.s
It's funny that you say that about Pavlik. When he beat Miranda I wanted Taylor to knock his head off and I was excited when Taylor knocked him down in the first fight. I was gonna come here be like like he was a hype job but like you said you can't help but like Kelly. He is one of the most down to earth people you will see in boxing.
I am biased towards Muhammad Ali. If I hear anyone try and put him down in anyway, I don't react smartly. I am biased against Manny Pacquiao and Wladimir Klitchscko. I had Manny losing to Marquez twice like a lot of other oberserves, therefore I don't think half of his praise is warranted. Likewise, Wladimir is consistantly mentioned in h2h matchups against past greats, and people actually believe he wins based on his size alone. Ali, Louis, Foreman, Lewis, Tyson, Liston, and even Jerry Quarry all starch Wlad, in my humble opinion.
