I felt the same way about Larry Holmes who I now defend as top ten best ever.

 

i agree w/ you Whit , bernard might not be racist , but it was a pretty stupid thing to say , and it could comeback to haunt him , calzaghe isn't your typical " white boy" , jeff lacy called out calzaghe and got his ass handed to him . the same could happen to bernard , in fact i would almost go as far to say jeff lacy hasn't looked the same since he got beat by joe. so i wouldn't take joe lightly by any means

168 has only been around for 20 something years. All time isn't a very long time in that division.

I have similar sentiments. I thought he was a pompous jackass when he was active(just like Haye). I appreciate his talent and accomlishments now.

Wlad would not survive, they all would knock him out in under 6 rounds. Aside from Ruddick, they all have good chins and power, Ruddick and Wlad are too similar to pick a winner, if "The Smash" lands, Wlad would be laying face first on the canvas.:yep

 

I like floyd as a fighter although hate his actions

I admit that Im Only interested in a fighter's fighting techniques and training habits , Fighter with poor training habits or who blow up in weight between fights are automatically on my B and C list .

Donald Curry - Technique
Hagler - conditioning
SRL - will to win.

I don't pick any of the older fighter because there standard are to high for any todays current fighter to meet.

 

Ruddock had a deadly left hook and left uppercut. Not a particularly good thing for Wlad. He also had a better chin than some give him credit for. The Lewis fight was the only time he was ever really sparked during his peak years, and I have a feeling that there were stylistic issues which caused that. If a peak Ruddock landed flush on Wlad, and preferably early, it might have been disasterous for Dr. Steelhammer.

 

I hear that, he did go 12 with a pretty peak Tyson, and took some big shots before getting knocked out in 7 or 8 in the other fight with him, by the time Lewis got him, he was damaged goods. I just remember Patterson in his corner having a heart attack, because Ruddick refused to listen to him, if he makes the mistake against Wlad, it might be an early night for him, that's why I feel Wlad/Ruddick would be a 50/50.

 

i kinda missed ruddock, imo vlad and his glass chiny chin chin would shatter if ruddock hits him cleanly with that thundering smash

 

Yes, Wlad would reunite with his old best friend again, the canvas. Wlad is only dominate today, is because the rest of the division is so weak, but I promise you, Wlad will be knocked out again very soon, it's only a matter of time.:yep
