Opponents have arrived with the hope of dethroning the Gold Medalist, and left unable to live with the speed, range and power of the lightweight star.

Perhaps it is that ease which leaves Campbell feeling there is still something to prove, but he's determined when he makes his homecoming return in Hull on October 25, that's exactly what is going to happen.

Matched with durable Argentinian Daniel Brizuela, the same opponent who put Tommy Coyle down on the canvas four times in February, Campbell has what he describes as his first genuine test.

With a fight between Coyle and Campbell penciled in for next summer in Hull, Campbell knows his performance with Brizuela will be compared to Coyle's.

"He's a tough guy and this is my test," explains Campbell in a determined manner.

"What is Luke Campbell made of and what is he about? Well, let's see on October 25. People are going to see exactly what I am about.

"I don't care whatever way it comes but I am going to beat Brizuela in a lot more convincing manner than Tommy Coyle beat him. It's about levels. I'm not being ****y in saying this but I believe I am levels above Tommy Coyle.

"He is a fantastic fighter and has got so much heart, but I believe I am levels above. It's yet to be determined, but I can make that statement with my performance."

Brizuela proved in his clash with Coyle that as well as being a dangerous opponent, he has plenty of heart after recovering from three knockdowns.

Only beaten three times in 32 contests, Campbell is not exaggerating when he says the Argentine will provide him with his first serious test.

"This is the first fight where my opponent is coming in to beat me up and doesn't just want to win, but thinks he can win. He's wound-up with what happened last time against Tommy, he wants the win, but that's good for me.

"I want him to come here and give me the very best that he's got because then I can show to my fans what I have got and make a statement."

The 10-round contest at the Hull Arena will top an impressive fight card that features Coyle's battle with Aussie hard man Michael Katsidis, as well as bouts for fellow local boxers Tom Knight, Connor Seymour, Nathon Smith and Charlie Payton.

For Campbell, the televised show provides a first opportunity to lay his hands on a belt.

The vacant WBA Inter-Continental lightweight title is up for grabs. Yet, the Olympian insists it isn't a driving force for victory.

"I didn't even know there was a title on the line. I'll be honest, I don't care about all these daft titles," admits Campbell.

"There's only one title on my mind and that is the world title I'm aiming for. I know that is still a long way off because I've only been a pro just over a year, but the world titles are all I'm interested in.

"I don't care about other titles. I want to be world champion, that's my only concern. I'm a baby to the pro game, there's lots to learn and hopefully in three or four years I'll be going for those type of fights."

Before the Brizuela date, Campbell will make his eighth pro' appearance on the George Groves bill at Wembley Arena on September 20.

Having recorded a swift two-round victory over Steve Trumble in California last month, Campbell says he's looking for an eight round contest to make sure he's fully prepared for Brizuela.

"I want eight rounds at Wembley and then I will be ready for my first 10 rounder against Brizuela," said Campbell. "I'm focused on fighting this month, then I'll think about it

I like the fella, no aires or graces about him & I don't read him as arrogant in the slightest.

He's bob on saying it's his test, I think he'll come through with A grade's and before 2016 I see him as being in one of these 'eliminators' Hearn raves about.

Firmly believe he's Britain's next 'genuine' world champion... I mean the way he moved Moises around the ring !! haha - but seriously the boy is class!

True! And hat's off to him for taking this fight - because let's be honest Hearn could dilly dally around for another 10 fights without stepping him up (e.g Cardle)

But Campbell has obviously stated he's not for hanging around -

I think the best fight for him in Britain is Turbo Terry Flan'... brilliant clash of styles.

See him being to cute for a Derry Matthews (who'll rightly have none of Campbell)
Too quick and good on the counter for Crolla
    Again speed kills against Burns
Mitchell - well depends which Kev Mitchell shows up I suppose..

Very level headed man to be honest, unlike Degale who in 2010 was claiming ''im winnign a world title next year.'' He knows hes a few years away from challenging and sounds like he is looking to learn his craft in the pros.

Honestly think he could be the "one" we have been waiting for as in a genuine world class talent rather than a belt holder.

Kell brook was on that same undercard and now lined up for one of the biggest fights in brittish boxing history. I bet x10 more people watched luke campbells debut live on sky than people watched frampton world title fight on boxnation. Now im not saying thats right because its not and im a big frampton fan I think hel take quigg appart but in the long run I think sky is needed for exposure.

And I arnt going to name citys and upset people but I have been to many worse places to watch boxing than hull.

He didn't look great in his last outing, though i'll give him the benefit of the doubt and put it down to the time off.
