I read wbo will not immediately enforce mandatory and will give Parker 1 possibly 2 voluntaries. Which means if Povetkin wins he'll have to wait.
Which also means imo Parker will likely try very hard to make unification bout with Joshua.
As for Povetkin vs Hammer. Everyone is knocking Hammer, and yes he doesn't impress at least not in his last fight, I expect Povetkin to KO him different levels, but Hammer deserves this fight, he ko'd Price and beat Price conqueror Teper. Two decent wins. Plus he has some solid journeyman on his record. He has actually faced decent opposition.
I hope Povetkin wins Povetkin vs Parker is a good fight. I'll pick Povetkin by late KO say Round 10-11

"The team behind Hammer are already in possession of the contract. It is 99.9% certain that he will sign it. I think that by the end of next week we will officially announce it. Hammer holds the highest position in the rankings - the first line under the WBO, the eighth in BoxRec. Next week I'm flying to the WBO's convention, and we will directly agree with President (Francisco) Valcarcel that Alexander will become the mandatory challenger (in the event he beats Hammer on December 15)," Titov explained.

"Alexander has the second most important WBO title - the International, and I think the WBO should meet us halfway on this issue and give their fight the status of being a title eliminator. We do not want a one-time fight for Povetkin. We want to make a showdown with Parker in July 2018 under the international exhibition Innoprom in Yekaterinburg. This is a big fight for Russia, for Alexander. These are the plans, the long-term perspective. Alexander deserves to become a world champion."

Povetkin will mess up his title shot again. Even if he does beat Hammer.

Yea Povetkin will win, but damn people are sleeping on Hammer.

He'll never lose by KO2 GTFO

I expect Povetkin to win but not by KO

Hammer is fairly young and has been with a lot of good fighters, he wont get smoked by a clean Sasha

I'd expect as much from a Romanian...

If Leif Larsen and Marius Wach can KO him, Povetkin sure as hell can. He won't stand up to the pressure and technical skill that Povetkin brings, and doesn't have the power to keep Povetkin from coming forward. He's totally outclassed.

When did Larsen KO Hammer ? I never heard of that

I thought Hammer retired Larsen by KTFO

I agree he's totally outclassed, I agree he's gonna lose, but not by demolition like 90% of posters predict here.

Parker wins as long as the fights not in Russia..Bs if held in Russia.. no title fights should be held there after all the trouble with them lately. people saying parker gets ko'd in2 or 3 rounds are dumb... pov took 10 rounds for takam which was a close fight till the knockout... parker fought takam a close fight but won ud... sooo both fought takam tough but pov is gonna ko parker In 2 or 3? yea... people needs to stop saying dumb stuff like that.

I expect Povetkin to win, but I agree that Hammer is no pushover. He's got Airich, Johnson, Williams and Sprott as scalps as well as Teper and Price. Let's just say that he's a cut above your average journeyman. Povetkin is getting old, fast. This fight could be closer than people expect.

If there ever was a time for Povetkin to get his **** together for one last run at the titles, it's now. This is very likely his last chance at glory.

Hammer would have been beaten by David Price if it wasn't for Price's insane lack of conditioning (or according to Dave Coldwell his loss of energy due his nervousness - yeah right Dave). Tells you much about Hammer's level. Povetkin will destroy the german.

If Parker keeps his current trainer/team he will lose to Pov definitely. I like Parker and the potential to be a really good champion (not a close winner of the likes of H Fury) is there but he needs a top trainer to help draw out the potential and give him much more variety to his game.
