If Joe fights again, it's going to be against Hopkins. It makes the most sense finance wise and people know who Bernard is, unlike Dawson and Bernard's been in the spotlight since his upset over Pavlik.

Hopkins has not got a chance of fighting Calzaghe for 3 reasons:

    1. Calzaghe hates the ****er
    2. The last fight was boring as hell and he will want to be in an exciting fight for his home crowd.

lol yeah, but it's the fight that makes sense. Maybe he'll give a rematch to Kessler tho since he mentioned him after the Jones fight.

I don't think he will fight Kessler either as he has said he wont do rematches.

The only fight out there I reckon is Dawson.

But if he fought Dawson, wouldn't that prove that he isnt a 'cherry-picker'?

I've got a feeling the Dawson fight happening is 60/40 against, but I'm optimistic.

I wonder, would they be fully behind a Hopkins v. Kessler fight too? :hey

To be honest I wouldn't risk Joe's undefeated record here. Alot of people would find my idea a sham but hear me out...

Let Joe fight some middle-of-the-road fighter so he can go out with a win and have a nice sendoff. Why not? Ottke did it with Armand Krajnc. It'll be more like an event than a true fight to celebrate the end of a great British fighter's career. Seriously. Why put everything on the line now?

You have to think about it like this. There will always be Calzaghe fans and there will always be Calzaghe haters. No matter how much Calzaghe does he will never be liked by everyone. Might as well celebrate the end of his career in style and let his true fans embrace him in what would amount to be a going-away fight (boxers never truly retire). The man will always have detractors so what would a win over Chad Dawson do? Seriously.

Jones was Calzaghe's send off. He cannot get it up for anyone else anymore, not even for Nobby next door in a celebration panto.

    or...

Let him fight Bute in Wales so he can end his career with a victory over a Romanian. I've heard that the last fighter to beat Calzaghe was a Romanian in the amateurs so why not bookend your career by beating the best Romanian fighter in the business?
