I'm reading that this is the first unification fight between two Japanese boxers?

Hopefully this is the start of a new trend. Now somebody get Nishioka a big fight.

None of the other champs want him. All calling each other out instead, or calling up challengers from down at bantamweight, or holding a belt hostage in South Africa.

They could all take a lesson in nutting up or shutting up from Rafael Marquez.

If anything, you'd think the faded Rafa enjoying some moments of success against Nishioka would have had the phone ringing off the hook for unification. :conf I guess it was all the other moments that scared everybody off. :yep

Not being Mexican doesn't help matters either I suppose. Now that he doesn't have to face a mandatory the only fight I can see him getting is Hasegawa. (If Hasegawa can make the weight)

Quite amazing if true, even with them only recognising two organisations.

    Ioka is a future P4P.
Knocked out Oleydong Sithsamerchai and then beat Juan Hernandez. Next up is Akira.
